From a distance I could make out the outline of a figure. A head, body, 4 limbs. Definatly a person. There was something odd about it though, it's movements were so robotic. So slow and rythmic, like there was no thought going into where it was going. My curiosity had been sparked, I had to get a better look.
As I got closer, the figures features became clearer and clearer. Now maybe only 20 feet from the thing I realized what I had discovered. It was a young guy he must of been only 18 or so. He was covered in filth and scars, it was almost too much to keep my eyes on him. His head turned to see what was moving towards him. I could tell he was looking straight at me, but I'm not sure if he really even knew I was there. I could feel my stomach turn knots. Every logical part of me told me to turn and run, but I just couldn't. Something about him just kept pulling me towards him.
The boy turned his head back, and that's when I caught a glimpse of something I don't know if I can ever explain. His head had been split open, not like he had hit it on something but more as if a hacksaw had been taken to his head. There were chunks just... randomely missing. Fighting the vomit rising from my throat I walked closer and yelled to him. No response. Now 5 feet to his side, I asked once more if he needed anything. His eyes met mine, a striking shade of blue. I saw pain in his eyes, I saw guilt, I saw acceptance, every emotion expierienced in a fraction of a moment and for a second everything inside me was calmed. All my fears, anxieties, the pains of being human were all washed away. There wasn't anything alarming about his presence. As soon as it happened it ended, he collapsed. Just dropped to the ground.
I ran to his side, he wasn't moving. His breathing was eratic and his pulse could just barely be felt, other than that you would swear he was dead. Then again maybe he already was, who's to say death is only the stopping of a heartbeat? Is there such a thing as the death of a soul? When all the emotion inside is lost and every part of a person becomes completely numb to everything around them. I looked closer at his head, an intense feeling of sickness drowned whatever I had been thinking of previously. His head was full of tiny little maggots. All feeding on the little that was left of his brain and as they did, they were becoming larger. At this young mans weakest they were attacking. Like parasites drawn to a host that couldn't hurt back. It was easy to see he didn't have much longer, these murderes would finish their meal soon. I felt bad for the guy, but there wasn't anyhting I could do for him.
I've never been a man of words but in that moment something came to me, crouching beside his body I spoke into what was left of his ear, "Know this, the maggots in your head grow to become annoying pests who feed off the waste of this world to make themselves more powerful, and eventually something bigger will come along and swat them down. The forces that control this world make no mistakes." His breathing became less of a struggle, I knew his last breath would come soon.
I reached to close his eyes, but something held me back. I thought to myself that it would be wrong to shut them, his eyes conveyed more than I ever could.

interesting, but needs proofreading and more coherency. i think the paragraph about death is really out of place.
