Okay, monkeys, I've taken some of my server space and registered a domain name for this project. Should make it pretty easy to share music files, etc.

The URL is: http://www.ubersitemusic.info/

Right now it's pretty basic - just the info I've had on Uber to date, plus submissions for auditions - but I'll organize and pretty the page up as time allots.

For those of you participating, please bookmark this URL in your browser, as I won't be posting any more updates on Uber with the exception of the final song selection and part assignments, and then the finished product after that.

In the meantime, keep on e-mailing your links or files...good stuff!

Agree. Pink Floyd is an excellent base for this collection of instruments and singers. Layered guitars, mixing of straight-up acoustic recording with heavily-effected electric and electronic instruments, plenty of voice parts. I vote Pink Floyd too.

Sooo...sounds like "Good Vibrations" is also a contender, besides Pink Floyd. More ideas/votes...let's keep it rolling...good stuff!

I'm looking forward to this, especially as it may turn out to be the first recording project I do in my new house. I have some neat tweaks for the synth that I think sound pretty Floyd-y. Here's a chance to get them out. Somebody choose a track, so I can start practicing.

ETS: I like the Good Vibrations idea. The theremin is cool for all kinds of little accents and noodles, as well as the featured solo instrument. I think it'd fit into a Pink Floyd remake quite well.

If I put up a website about why you disgust me called UbersiteSucksAss.com, it is not likely to cause confusion, and may be labelled protected speech.

However, if I put up a website called, let's say...ubersitemusic.info, a reasonable person may conclude it carries the imprimatur of ubersite itself.

If the site sucks, it could have a derogatory effect on ubersite, and thus be considered harmful.

A) Bart's site is for-profit (.com) - the domain I registered is non-profit (.info).
B) Do your research on trademark law. Domain name infringment cases have been highly speculative and these cases are typically exclusive only to people trying to use them for profit. Again, I am NOT doing this for profit.
C) If Bart wants the domain name from me, I would gladly give it to him for free.

Basically just gonna go by general consensus on instrumental ability for assigning parts. The process isn't meant to exclude anyone, rather it's just to get a feel for best placement.
