I've been here for years and years. Its alwasy been the same apart from 1 thing.
More Ubercentric stuff now. I don't like much of it, but I'll almost always +2 TTOM for the effort he puts in.
I think uber is getting good now, the shit is numerous but theres a HELL of a lot of good stuff recently.
St Ubrie(sp) ADD UGR Darkomadness, nath, Pancake houes man, TTOM, and spencer keep gringing out good stuff on a less serious note,which I prefer to be honest.
I just don't like all the crappy in jokes. Habeeb is very rarely good, dudethatsbosch sucks, rape jokes CAN be funny, but just saying the word rape isn't.neither is cowbell cupcakes rabbits etc.
I think Uber is just coming out of a bad patch, more and more serious writing on here nowwadays too.
Every few months some old user comes out and says Uber is shit. Shut up or fuck off.

What I'm really sick of is the way things have gotten so personal. It wasn't all that long ago when glam_daddy, smokeymt whatver his name was and teephphaph god rest his soul and I used to really get into it over politics. It didn't turn into a "you R an ugly cunt bitch whore who can't get laid" fest. It was really more like high school debate. I'm sure no one really changed anyone's mind but it was entertaining and if nothing else allowed people to solidify their beliefs through discourse. Now we can't talk about paper or plastic without it getting personal.

Perhaps 90% is a bit of hyperbole, but I'm really more thinking of things like the constant personal attacks that add nothing and are most of the time completely irrelevant. You don't like a post, fine hit it with a -2 smartass comment, and then move the fuck on. I fail to see the necessary in hitting it with 10 or 20 subsequent rankings (or oh say 657 from someone who obviously is just pining for attention) or it turns into some kind of actual debate. THAT is the kind of thing that drives away decent posters.
I would be happy if people who don't want to see them could filter out my posts. Why wouldn't I? I would love never to see that prick Shlongy's name ever again on any of my posts.
Here is another news flash, I have never ever claimed to be a writer. I have said several times that I am a numbers person hopelessly mired in left brain activities. In fact, one of the reasons that I have a certain loyalty to ubersite is that it was on here when I first discovered that when forced to do so I could come up with something creative, at least to my standards. I'm not kidding about that, perhaps it was that I showed an early aptitude towards math but I managed to escape the public education system without ever having had to write a single line of fiction.
Unless you consider the essays I used to write on books that I never managed to wade all the way through in English class.

I too, occationally grow tired of trolls and n00bs, but they are part of what makes up this site. Flame wars are pointless, I agree, but (let's be honest) they can be amusing when they happen to someone else. Personally, I find some of the debates here both brilliant and engaging... and humbling.
Another site has an ignore feature, but I have never used it. I feel that to use it would somehow detract from the full experience of the site. Although, trust me, there are a few users (one over there in particular) that I would LOVE to see disappear for all eternity... (Hadley, put the gun down!)
No, I don't really care for your style of writing. (that's okay, Crystle won't come NEAR my stuff because it's so violent) But, as I said on my newest post, at least you are a major contributor to this site, you just choose to add in a way that isn't my flavor. That's fine. All I ever wanted was for you to read some of the other stuff on the front page and give the quality writers a chance.

Hmmmm... Why 2,000 tons? There are about 30,000 users here. So let's subtract 15,000 for alters and unverified/unused accounts. Now, we have 15,000 good accounts which is still probably too much. Anyway, let's say that the average user weighs 160-200 pounds. I am below this range but let's average it out to 175. So now we multiply 175 by 15,000 and we get 2,625,000 pounds. Since you think you are such an awesome poster we will subtract your weight from the total assuming you weigh close to the average. 2,625,000 - 175 = 2,624,825 pounds.
So, according to you Uber is 2,624,825 pounds of burning cow manure.

And then there is my ongoing obsession with both Ghola and Katy, but we won't get into that...

I don't care for the posts about uber, but things have really gone downhill. I don't know what is going on, maybe it's that everyone wants to be shlongy who I've never been amused by, but it's out of hand.

This kind of thing is driving away everyone moderately literate and sinking the whole site into a sludge of crap. I don't know what the answer is, maybe if Bart Bart made an "ignore" option so it would be possible to put filters on here it would help but I just don't know. I'm used to this place sucking during the summer, but somehow this is different now.
