I experienced an Epiphany yesterday.
I have come to realise that the majority of popular artists all throughout history were not highlyu regarded during their time, case in point - the Beat Poets of the 60's and Socrates of ancient times.
If you don't 'get' my poetry I no longer have a problem with that, I also think that plenty more people than the 2 who have come forward understand my spoken word posts on the different levels I have created, but either they are scared to be mocked by the other users on here or they can't open their minds to what I am trying to say.
That being said, I WILL NOT apoligise for anything I have previously said on this website. As thats is who I was and where I was at at that point.
I rate very rarely but I will start giving appropriate ratings to those who are worthy - if you get a rating from me, good or bad - it means I have been effected by your post. and maybe thats what this journey called life is all about.
HAUNTINGS

You poetry sucks, even though I already hate pretty much all poetry, I know the difference between good poetry and bad poetry, and yours is just plain bad. Face facts, you suck at poetry. No matter how much you want to believe that you have some talent, you dont.
Even though most on here dont "sugar-coat" their negative responses to your efforts, it doesn't mean their point is any less valid. Take the hint, stop trying to write poetry.

I couldn't care less what the monkeys on this site say about me. I posted a small amount of stuff, and got some ok ratings, then I stopped posting, because I have little or no desire to try and become a 'regular' on this site. I posted to get an honest opinion about what I wrote, because cruel as these people may be, they are honest. If you post something good, they will give you positive ratings and tell you so, just read back through some of the posts and you will see that. The reason you have been badly recieved is because your poetry isn't great. Its over dramatic for the point of drama, it lacks any depth, it seems to have been written by someone who is trying to convince other people that they are troubled and deep, when in reality they aren't. If I were you, I would stop trying to convince people. If you like writing, then write, you aren't harming anyone, but if you post on here, expect an honest response, if you don't like it, then stop posting.
If you aren't real, which I really hope you aren't, then I take all that back.

most of the beat poets of the 60s sucked. most elizabethan playwrites were forgotten because they sucked. most screenwriters of the early movies were forgotten because they sucked. most ancient greek philosophers were not written down in history because they weren't anything special.

3.a. A sudden manifestation of the essence or meaning of something.
3.b. A comprehension or perception of reality by means of a sudden intuitive realization
I'm guessing you're going with 3b. Socrates was generally accepted as a scholar and philosopher in his time. He was consulted by leaders of the day and had many students. Socrates wrote "Death may be the greatest of all human blessings". One of his students, Plato, wrote "No evil can happen to a good man, either in life or after death". Granted, those are no "Ahhhhh ahhhhh the haunting cries of the devil owls", but still, pretty good.
From your preamble it is clear that you believe yourself to be a great poet because you are misunderstood, and you base that opinion (epiphany, as you put it) on the responses that your works get here on Uber. While that "great-misunderstood" thing is a possibility, there is a far greater chance that you are just not a very good poet and that the reviews are based on honest opinion rather than misunderstanding.
Not that the reviews should discourage you from writing. Plato wrote "Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something", "Never discourage anyone... who continually makes progress, no matter how slow", and of course, "If women are expected to do the same work as men, we must teach them the same things". And Socrates wrote "I decided that it was not wisdom that enabled [poets] to write their poetry, but a kind of instinct or inspiration, such as you find in seers and prophets who deliver all their sublime messages without knowing in the least what they mean".

Here's the deal:
Most of the time it's not that people don't get your poetry, it's that they just don't like it. In my case, I find your poetry very stereotypical of the "dark" genre of writing.
That being said, this:

I was all ready to -2 this without reading it, but then I remembered the title and decided to give it a chance. I hate poetry, I think the only poet I've ever read willingly was orgasmatron, so I didn't read your poem, but I agree with everything you said before that.

If you don't 'get' my poetry I no longer have a problem with that, I also think that plenty more people than the 2 who have come forward understand my spoken word posts on the different levels I have created, but either they are scared to be mocked by the other users on here or they can't open their minds to what I am trying to say.
