Darling,
I'm in the International Society of poets. So is everyone else who puts their shit onto poetry.com. Whether it's good or not, they still try to entice you to get into it.
Lets look at this through another light, shall we?
Hmm, a fair majority of poets are depressed, looking for some sort of recognition of their pain and suffering, indeed looking for recognition of their art.
hey, we can make money off of that! Just tell them that they're in some elite society, and then make them pay enormous amounts of money to fly out to our conventions and buy books with their poetry featured in it!

Beauty, it's a sham. Whether or not you have talent is between you and the almighty. Whether your going to pay for recognition of it; well that's on you.

I was inducted into the society 3 times. Now I know for a fact my poetry does not deserve to be anywhere where someone can read it, yet I was still begged to buy a book and come out to a convention where I could read my poetry.
It's a scam, plain and simple. You want recognition? Get actual artists to review your work, put your heart and soul into your art, and get something together to publish. Once that's done, read and reread, ask yourself "is this something someone else could possibly like?" if the answer is yes, find a publisher, and get it printed.
but art was never about recognition. It's about taking your soul and turning it into a song, it's about taking your mind and turning it into music.

this is one of six"poems" (and I use the term lightly) that got me that stupid little letter in the mail:

Outside I look in
To try to find the life I lost
In my hatred I look away

just, be careful, alot of people are out there to scam up and coming artists. Stay true to yourself and stop with the shit throwing at the people here on uber. It goes nowhere and only serves to frustrate people.

I'm sorry but I really can't negatively rate this. The post was meh but the own reviews made me laugh.
