I have a younger sister. We're 4 years apart. When we were growing up, we always fought like cats and dogs. And it was always because of shit she would start.
She would start crap because she knew I would come after her, and then my dad would beat my ass. She knew this, and she loved seeing me get my ass beat.
Women can be like that sometimes. We used to follow the WWF back then, late 70's, early 80's, before WrestleMania, before it was mainstream. I used to practice my wrestling moves on her. She would be downstairs in the family room, laying on the floor in front of the TV. I would jump from the top of the landing and land on her with a flying elbow. Man, oh man, was that fun.
My sister would start whining away, calling out for help, to no avail. Then I would slap the figure four leg lock on her. Rick Flair and Tito Santana have nothing on me. One time, I put her in the Boston Crab, and damn near broke her neck. I didn't know my own strength. She would have sleep over parties with her friends, and I would terrorize them. I got my ass beat for that too, but it was fun.
As we've gotten older, the relationship I have with my sister is completely different. She's one of the coolest girls I know. Has her head on straight. Comes to me for advice when she needs it. We often talk about when we were younger, and laugh about it all. Lately she's been hounding me "So when are you going to give me a little niece or nephew?". I say thee nay, to that one.
I don't know. When I was younger, all I wanted to do was see her die. Now, we're really close. Funny how life is like that. I used to think about how great it would be to have been an only child, but now I realize how fortunate I am to have a sister like her. I guess in some strange way, having a sister has made me a better person.
I'm just wondering who else out there has any siblings, and if they have a decent relationship with them. I would think that I'm not alone. I know McGinny and his sister aren't so close, but what about the rest of you?
Also, don't you think my sister is beautiful? She should have been a model. And please save all the disgusting comments about what you would do to her, I've heard them all. Even after the wires were removed from their jaws. That's me, the stud next to her.

I spent the majority of my childhood with my grandmother, being an only and very spoiled child. My mother had me at a very young age. Well after living 13 years with my grandmother we moved back here to be with my mom, stepdad, and 3 half siblings. The road was extremely rough at first, as I had grown up not having a father figure since the age of 7 when my grandfather passed away. My stepfather and I were oil and water. And never previously having grown up with other children around, I had to learn how to be a big sister. Well, it was rough like I said, having to adjust. But now that I have created my own life and have my own family, I love them and and am very close to all of them. My youngest sister is 15 and her and I, have the most confrontation, over the stupid teenage shit she does. But then again, it only aggravates me b/c I have been there. The other 2, my 18 year old brother, should be a model, and my 20 year old sister share a close bond.
Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on with my life story...lol. Shit, that would be a post in itself...=)

I give you props for writing this, knowing the inevitable flood of posts from asshats who will mock you and mock your sister.
I think my sister is the greatest person. She's probably my best friend, and she's hysterically funny and insightful. She is (from what my friends always say) gorgeous, and I had to put up with years of them hitting on her, but I was never too worried about it, because she's the type of girl who kicks guys' asses. I never really had to stick up for her too much.
I wonder why so many siblings are so utterly unable to get along. To me, it seems the most natural thing in the world. Anyway, thanks for the post!

My sisters are a lot older than I am so I was a spoiled little shit and always got my way, still do. It's good to be me. We get along pretty well considering that we're nothing alike. Hit user info if you really want to hear it, there are a couple of rants about them on here. One of them was just here for the weekend. She's the one who got my nunchuku taken away from me when I was 7 for nailing her in the back of the head with them. I think that particular fight was over whether we were going to watch Scooby Do or Star Trek after school.

Oh yeah. The question. I have one older brother. I'm 6'4", he's abou 5'9". I weigh about 190 lbs. He weighs about 200 lbs. He really used to like to kick my ass all the time. He was always pretty muscular for his age, and I was always pretty thin. After he moved out, we became much closer and have a real good relationship now. He's a good kisser and I touch his butt. I made that last part up.

I have 2 sisters...identical twins 3 years younger than me.
They turn 28 this year in August. One is a detective for the police where she lives...the other is a disgruntled art teacher now working as an office assistant in a dental office.
I was never what you would call close to them, they being twins kinda precluded any real sibling bonding, combine that with them being natural born and myself being adopted...yeah we were close.
About the biggest impact I think I had on either of my sisters is that my bad habits and criminal tendencies encouraged one to become a cop, while my creativity (when messed up on drugs or when sober) inspired the other to persue art...

my bro sis and i always got along, but plotted... a lot. we always pulled crap on eachother, got in trouble, and vowed revenge/brooded. now, we get along really well, but we still pull shit on eachother just to liven up the household. it drives our parents insane (im 17, sis is 20, bro is 23)

I have 3 brothers (13, 10 & 7 years older)... We all get along together and our jobs have somehow placed us in the same city... I live with the brother that is 10 years older than me and we get along really well... Good to hear that you get along so well with your sister...

I have an older brother and a younger sister .My brother and I have never been that close until recently. We have always been into different things. He was into riding doggies(pronounced dough-gies)and I was into moshing. He liked listening to Conway Twitty and fucking with hay. I liked listening to Rancid and saying oi oi oi all the time. Somewhere though, our tastes became less extreme and even intertwined. i got out of the whole punk rock thing and toned my dress down. While he stopped doing the whole cowboy thing and we both started listening to different music including metal and stuff of a hardcore nature. We kind of grew close through that. Now we identify with each other and we don't fight anymore.
My sister is still a youngin'. She is only 17 and a junior in high school. She is way better than me and my brother. She is in all honors classes and actually has a chance at getting a grant or a scholarship. She will actually graduate college on time and be successful. She is beautiful too. I hope she finds a good guy when she gets older, if not, I don't have a problem breaking a neck or two.

My sister is 7 years older than me, and still thinks that she is my 2nd mom.
As much as I try and show her I'm an adult now too, she still see's me as the whiny little 10 year old that I was when she moved out.
I think she just needs to get laid, maybe she'll get off my case. Anyone out in North Carolina? I'll be my sister's pimp!

My experience is very similar, only with two sisters instead of one.
One of my sisters is in Tanzania, working as a teacher, so that she can pad her application to graduate school.
The other is in Hawaii, going to school at University of Hawaii.
I haven't seen either of them in over a year, but they're both coming back on July 10th. I can't wait.
