The home I grew up in seemed like a breeding ground for these beasts...our yard was SO noisy during their mating years, I could ride my bike a half mile down the road and still hear them.
But I had a grand old time picking their exoskeletons off of the crabapple tree, nonetheless.

I like them 'cause they're free fishing bait.

Shut up! What kind of evil fish can you catch with those things? Personally, I've never been a fan of insects in general, but this one is voted Least Likely For Me To Touch. I got the heebee jeebies at least once during the making of this post. Cicadas are disgusting.

Aaaah! Shhh! I saw those beastly things in my quest for cicada pictures. I will probably not do the next one on those, though. We'll see.

This was not a shitpost. We have them here in SW VA this year but they're not too many of them. I like them 'cause they're free fishing bait.

Cool. I didn't know that those exoskeleton things were cicadas.
I've caught harvest flies before...they're freaky looking.

I liked this. There was a cicada year when I was born in 87, and then another a couple years ago when I turned 17.

That thirteen or seventeen year cicada that we had back in 2005 was a motherfucker for motorcycle riding.

I love finding out things that "scientists cannot understand." Like theses perfect circles about 13 ft across inside which nothing can grow, in africa, for some reason scientists cannot understand.

The Jon Secada picture, while a nice touch for this post, gave me a soft on. He looks gay.
Show me your box.
