Who shall win... "The Last Omega Man on Earth"? You decide. I'm here to present the facts, as seen by any other film nerd/geek/obsessoid:

THE CONTESTANTS/PREMISES:

Robert Morgan (a.k.a. The REAL Neville)
(portrayed by Vincent Price in "The Last Man on Earth" (Near-faithful adaptation of Richard Matheson' work), precursor to "Night of the Living Dead"- Released in 1964)

A man- the last man, in fact- trapped in a dead world. He is a man of science, and the sole survivor of a pandemic that literally killed the world. But the dead world has retaliated, in the form of millions of reanimated vampires that scream for his blood, every evening.

By day, these viral monsters hide from the burning sunlight. By night, they feed off of the blood of the weaker infected. And they beat on the door of Robert Morgan (Price/REAL Neville), the only man immune to the vampire plague.

The vampires are infected human victims. They walk slowly, have limited intelligence, and crave blood. Their fear of crosses and mirrors is a psychological side-effect of the plague. Their weakness to garlic is an allergy; as is their weakness to sunlight (photosensitivity). They feed on human blood.

Every afternoon, Morgan (Neville) awakens, ready to take on a new day, and a new batch of vampires. He cruises in his station-wagon, investigating buildings and looking for vampires to stake. Over the last few years, he has staked hundreds of them- right through the heart- but is no closer to reaching his goal of erradication.

By night, he lounges in his home and watches old home-movies, remembering a society that got along just fine before the living-dead started knocking at his door with clubs and sticks, calling him out.

He is Legend among these undead assholes. He comes for them in their sleep, killing them in cold blood.

Perhaps he was chosen. Perhaps he is immune from a bat bite he received while working in South America. He doesn't know, and neither do we, nor will we ever.

Through his fucking-boring-but-interesting adventures, he meets a chick who hasn't succumbed to the effects of the vampire plague. After learning that she's a spy for a group of militant humans who haven't yet become vampires- yet fear Morgan for his vampire-slaying Legend- Morgan discovers that his blood- through a makeshift transfusion with said chick- can cure the infected.

Colonel Robert Neville (a.k.a. Charleton Heston)
(portrayed by Charleton Heston in "The Omega Man" (adaptation of Richard Matheson' work)- Released in 1971)

A man- the last man, in fact- trapped in a dead world. He is a man of science, and the sole survivor of a pandemic that literally killed the world. But the dead world has retaliated, in the form of millions of albino-mutant cultists that scream for his blood, every evening.

By day, these viral maniacs hide from the burning sunlight. By night, this group (known as "The Family") forages for food, and they burn the remnants of a society cursed with technology and death. And they beat on the door of Robert Neville, the only man immune to the albino-mutant plague.

The albinos (The Family) are infected human victims, lead by a former TV newscaster, Matthias. They are photosensitive (sensitivity to light), and they have joined together to kill the last creature of the wheel - Neville. Their main weapon is fire, which they use to cleanse the world of its transgressions. They accept their plague as a punishment, and curse Neville as the last evil remnant of a truly-plagued society of technology and knowledge.

Every afternoon, Neville awakens, ready to take on a new day, and any member of the Family that he can find, as he searches for their main nest. He cruises in his cars (usually convertible), investigating buildings and looking for Family members to kill. Over the last few years, he has shot hundreds of them with his automatic firearms, but is no closer to reaching his goal of erradication.

By night, he lounges in his honky paradise and plays chess with a statue of Caesar, remembering a society that got along just fine before the Family started knocking at his door with catapults of fire, calling him out.

He is Legend among these infected assholes. He comes for them during the day, killing them in cold blood.

His status stems from his immunity to the plague, which he has acquired from the only working vaccine available.

Through the film, he eludes the Family, meets a few survivors who have not yet succumbed to the effects of the plague, and fucks a black chick.

During his stay with these survivors, he deducts that a cure is available through the vaccine in his blood. Since he is a military scientist (you should be one, too), he manages to extract the anti-bodies out of his own blood and devises a sort of treatment/cure for the virus.

...

After the Pandemic, there's the Last Omega Man (on Earth).

These are the facts. The decision, however, is yours: Neville versus Morgan.

"it occurs to me that you can't make a comment about someone's possible homosexuality without having to resort to that lame seinfeld joke."

I always hear "that seinfeld joke" this or "that fucking seinfeld joke" that, and everyone always knows what the fag is talking about except for me because I never watched that stupid show.

__________

Epp, there's an episode concerning homosexuality in there somewhere. Jerry and that stumpy little asshat and Kramer keep calling some guy a homosexual, but they're sure to add to that:"not that there's anything wrong with that" every... single... time. It's funny harhar, but not funny WAAHOOOOO *explodes/ejaculates*

Here you go. Didn't read the post, but I'll increase the average anyway.

Hollywood has been trying to get a faithful adaptation off the ground for the last 20 years and gone through everyone from Schwarzenegger to Will Smith.

The Omega Man blew.

I'll stick with Price.

Dr. Phibes, anyone?

Waitin', watchin' the clock
It's four o'clock, it's got to stop
Tell him, take no more
She practices her speech, as he opens the door
She rolls over
Pretends to sleep as he looks her over

She lies and says she's in love with him
Can't find a beta man
She dreams in color, she dreams in red
Can't find a beta man, can't find a beta man
Ohh

Talkin', to herself there's no one else
Who needs to know
She, tells herself, oh...

Memories back when she was bold and strong
And waiting for the world to, come along
Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone

She lies and says she still loves him
Can't find a beta man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red
Can't find a beta man
Can't find a beta man

She loved him, yeah...
She don't want to leave this way
She feeds him, yeah
That's why she'll be back again

Can't find a beta man
