I put this together while stuck in a tent in Kyrgyzstan. Before getting here, I was in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan... you get the picture. For the most part, I never get deployed for more than 45 days at a time. However, it was around day 130 in the system. Still not a long time compared to those who do a full year in the desert, but still shitty none the less.
After that long, you start missing the little things. Sleeping in your own bed, taking a crap on your own toilet, and American television. Sure, we have AFN to watch, but that is worse than the WB. We had a few BBC channels, but come on... it's BBC.
Have you ever heard a Brit say 'aluminum'? It's funny as Hell. Okay... back to the subject at hand.
Along with my laptop and cameras, I tend to bring some portable recording equipment with me when I travel. Just like a camera... you never know when it might come in handy.
And shit posts like this are also handy during slow days on Uber.

i'm astounded at how angry and defensive brits are about their aluminum.
they also spell gray "grey" and tire "tyre."
in old, old english, forty was "fourti" and four was "foure"
on the grammar side, they put their commas outside their quotation marks. that's "daft", ain't it?
they call periods "full stops."
parentheses are called "brackets.' to make up for possible confusion, they call their brackets "square brackets."
