Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Although, I do appreciate our Native American Friend, Icarus' and Ms. Derkins' attempts to appropriately eulogize my non-death. Very touching, that.
Yeah, but anyway, it's been virtual, Uber (ha! Get it?!). But this is the bookend. It's funny, but there is a kind of symmetry to this. The phrase that started me here will be the one that ends me here. (http://www.ubersite.com/m/12369)
And the author of that line? Well, that pretty much sums up the whole experience, don't it?
Like I say. Kind of funny. If you think about it.
I know people come on here and make "good-bye" posts all the time and they aren't widely appreciated.
I don't care.
Sometimes people even give up their passwords to their accounts.
I'm not going to do that.
I'll just say that I'm going away for the indefinite future and at this point I don't really expect to be back. If you could water my plants though, I'd sure appreciate it. Once a week is about all they need. Sometimes just a little more with the fern.
Actually, sometimes I try to pour a little bit into the catch-plate underneath the pot with that one. Someone once told me that it helps create a little "humidity bubble" that really helps the fern thrive. I haven't really seen any significant difference, but hey, if it makes the fern happy, it makes me happy.
But don't feel like you have to take that extra step. As I mentioned, I'm just thankful that you're even watering them in the first place.
Where was I?
Oh yeah . . .
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.
And that's what I've been doing over the past two months or so and intend to continue doing. It's been great, honestly. I don't think "things" have ever been better for me.
Makes one wonder about cause and effect a little bit, I suppose. If one is so inclined.
So . . . yeah.
Thanks for the memories, Uber.

I won't +2 a "goodbye post"- unless it's my own - but I will leave you with two thoughts.
1) I once got kicked out of a bar for singing "Dankeshoen" during Karoeke - which shouldn't have been a crime, but I sang it with my pants at my ankles.
2) Mrs. Shlongy and I are making arrangements for Telluride once again, in Feb or March of next year. It depends on the dates that we can trade one of our time shares. It also could turn into Breckenridge very easily, which is also fine with me.
