i remember that great show
as a young tyke, during the 50's, i traveled across the country many times in the back seat of my parents sedan
You Would see the same people, time after time, day after day in; gas stations (32.9 was a rip, 5 gal for a buck a deal and 4 gal for a dollar was normal), motels($4-$6 a night) and on the road, over a 3, 4 or 5 day period, since there were so few people on the road
the interstate system, invisioned by Eisenhower, had not been set up yet
the thing i remember most were some of the accidents that we'd drive by
they didn't have fast clean-up crews or police, so the victims of these horrendous accidents,
or their "parts" would just be lying on the road, ejected out of their fucked-up, sometimes
burning car(there's nothing like 114 octane)in the anus of NM/AZ/TX or wherever, FOR HOURS
back then, most people, especially parents with kids, didn't stop for shit

Yeah, she died before the episode even started in the car crash.
It's never really clear about what's happening to her after, if it's like a sixth sense thing, or if it's her limbo.
Same with the Hitch-hiker. I always interpret him as the Grim Reaper type character, trying to get her to let go, but it could always be like in Creepshow 2, but without the gore or sustained horror, and she killed the hitchhiker in the car crash and he's haunting her afterlife or something.
God knows. Good episode though. They really manage to make a normal looking, unthreatening man into a bit of a meance.

+2 for effort, not creativity.
