You've got to be fucking kidding me.
I mean seriously, you. have. got. to. be. FUCKING. kidding me.
One year, nine months. That's all I've got left when I leave Okinawa. One year and nine months. 733 days, 17614 hours, 1056868 minutes, and 63412083 seconds until I get out and go to college. That was it, that was the deal. Five years, medical schooling, a few tours in Iraq, and then I move out to the USS Couch.
I WAS SO CLOSE! I could smell the civilian life. I could smell the collegiate shennanigans. I was so close, it was no longer etheral, it was tangible. I was going to be free.
Then I looked at my orders.
Feb, 2010.
3 years!
3 MORE FUCKING YEARS!
Do you know how many tours in Iraq that's going to be, with the one division in which nearly 3/4 of all corpsman have been killed in Iraq belogned to?
Three too many, that's how many!

Spent quite a bit of time there. I loved it. I stayed mostly mainland. Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Osaka and Sapporo but I did go to Okinawa for a little while. Very american. Just like any other military base in the world.

I won't laugh, because I got a nice tour on the USS BOHICA too at one point. 18 solid months without a day of leave.

Didn't reenlist, I told my detailer I would obliserve to finish out a set of two year orders.
My orders came back with an extra year on them.
I was supposed to be out sept 4 2008.
The three more years came from me believing that it would be a two year order set, but it was changed to three.
I don't have that many years left on my contract. yet, still they found a way to make me serve for a few more.
Without the nice SRB.
Bastards.
I wrote this really pissed off, so it may not make sense. Sorry. Tis a good thing I put it down as SPT, eh?
