She moves like a snake. Elegant. Sly. Sinuously. Her blonde hair, platinum and silver, trails behind her like an aura streaking energy. She blinks. The world is shut out. I notice her mouth twitch, it looks like it's never tasted rain. She turns to me and smiles, that innocent leer of hers so stupidly suggestive in its inherent context. Her hands grasp my wrists. She pulls impatiently.
"I was there the day Kennedy died. I saw every move, every color, every dip in light. I saw the thick garnet paint spray from his statuesque head as if it were flowers overgrown from the ear of a sculpture. I saw his beautiful young wife scramble onto the back tail of the car. I saw him slump over and expire like curdled milk." She rolled her eyes in disgust at his soft reverie.
"You're sick," she commented wryly.
He watched her prance away with unparalleled disgust. Her pink capped head was hanging low in the harsh sunlight, and the white t-shirt covering her slender torso was soaked with sweat. From so far away, she appeared tiny and insignificant as a bug. His body, awkward and lumpy, felt large, raw, ancient in comparison. He knew it was her youth he coveted, not her body.
She used to tell him, back when she was still fifteen, that she would kill herself if he didn't stop watching porn. He cared about her, but couldn't stop. He learned how to cover his tracks. She cried into his lap every night about that one stupid fucking hangup, but she never broke it off with him. That was good; he used to get so hard when she'd cry. The truth was she just wasn't enough for him, and those other girls were so much fucking hotter.
"Let's get dinner," she said as she returned to him, soaking wet from the automatic sprinklers.
"I kissed god. I felt his infinite lips, his resounding waves, his desperate control. I knew his entirety, his infinity, his bliss. I touched him gently, became him. I let my lips linger, and in that moment, I imploded. Heaven is merely the state of being eternal; the absence of pearly gates and splendidly paved streets will upset only those whose sight is bigger than their soul."
"Shut up," her reply was final. He complied. Softly her eyes fluttered, indecisive as they cast about for something upon which to bestow their pious attentions. "Hey, Jack..." she began.
"Yes darling?"
"If I cheated on you would you murder me?"
"Certainly not," he replied, humoring her.
"Yes you would."
"Well, maybe..."
"Okay," she sat down next to him and placed a gentle hand on his thigh. "Imagine I went to a party, and got really drunk, and fucked the entire football team. What would you do?"
"They'd never fuck you Reeny." The smile slid from her face.
"I know."
"Be a good little girl, okay? Go get the car and pull it up here for me. I want to watch that girl a little while longer." Her eyes flickered towards the young girl feeding ducks by the lakeshore.
"Fuck you," she said. He watched her stalk away angrily.
He sighed. Kennedy really was a good president.
