We are living in a world where 90% of the worlds wealth is controlled by 10% of the population. Something like 3 million CHILDREN die each day because of disease and malnutrition. BUT NO, this is not a save the wildlife, feed the children bullshit commecial who sole job is to try to sucker the last few nickels and dimes that the working class are being deprived of more and more. This post is to condemn those who let their billions sit in a bank earning themselves more and more money, when they have more then they'll ever need to figure out what to do with. Honestly, would bill gates miss 10 of his 40 billion dollers? WOuld he never be able to make it back? Think what that 10 billion could do for those less fortunate. Farming communities could be built, this could be used to feed the hungary, in their own country and in others that are even less fotunate. Using farming communities woudl allow us to combat hungar in a way like no one else has.
Basically food is only the beggening. The way I see it, everyone has something in surplus, and something in demand. Be it a large population, large ammounts of money, large ammounts of land and resources, what have you, the only reason we soooo many people in this world that are wanting for the basic necessities of life, is because the fatcats keep on getting fatter, and us as the general population aren't willing to stand up against the powerful few. We are the people, with out us to follow the 90%, all they have is money. They are nothing with out the populace, but we are not to know about this, too much power to the masses causes disorder, and htat results in a loss in profit for the fotune 500, which by the way, they will lose more sleep over, rather then the thousands that die every minute. They see these people as a way to earn money, not as human beings with faces and souls.

I know its been mentioned before but you should read 'Atlas Shrugged'. You have to wade through 1000 pages of Ayn Rand repeating herself, but it does pretty much explain why you're an idiot.

Oh, but Bart, they would force you to work in a highly skilled position. And I am sure you would have plenty of incentive to do a good job since you would be making a similar amount as someone collecting your garbage. If you slacked off because you hated your job and weren't getting paid enough to do it then they could resort to physial punishment. Who knows, maybe one day you might even be a worker slave, beaten every day to make you do a job you don't want to do - Yippee!! Not that you wouldn't be one anyway in fuckface Pacifists ideal world.
Pacifist, you really should take a few economics courses and at least learn the basic principles of money and wealth before spouting off any more bullshit. While your at it, take an English class.

Three scenarios for you:
1. Capitalist pig me buys a pair of shoes made in China. Chinese worker gets 15 cents/day working in a sweat shop making shoes.
2. America goes isolationist. Capitalist pig me buys a pair of shoes made in USA. An educated American who should be doing something else, is instead working in a factory stitching shoes. Chinese worker gets nothing.
3. America switches to socialism/communism/bullshitism-of-the-week. I quit my high-paying stressful job and start selling sunglasses on the beach because I reap little to no benefit for working in a high-stress long-hours environment. I have enough money to buy food, but not to buy shoes. I have less wealth, society has less wealth, Chinese worker gets nothing.
And don't give me any of your bullshit rationale as to why I'm going to keep working my ass off even though I make the same amount at my job as I would renting out jet skis on the beach. It's not that I don't like my job, but one of things that I like about it is that I get paid reasonably well.
I can't speak for everyone in the country, but I can say for damn sure that I would do something else more relaxing and less geared around my actual skills. Now I've become a skilled worker in an unskilled position, introduced inefficiencies into the whole economic ebb and flow, I have no money, the tech industry loses one more body, and the Chinese worker still doesn't get squat.
Wow, that sounds like a great idea!

Oh yeah. Dtt, i forget, all the workers in China are rich. What was i thinking? They do get every dollar that someone payed or something. There is no other people who get it, only the exactly person who made it. The inventor and company and such get nothing, i forgot, the big companies are all in it for the little man. We don't have to sell it in America in stores, the Chinese maker comes over here and sells it himself. Actually, they get more that the money payed, they get $1.25, just for being cool.
Okay, i realize they might get more than i said, but seriously, do you think the person in China gets much more than shit?

Why should people shell out their hard earned money just to give some lazy asses in foreign countries a free ride? People shairng their wealth is the reason that Castro and his regime are still in power (He gets tons of money from people in the U.S. sending it to relatives in Cuba) and living conditions still arent to great, even though its a communism. If fuckwads cant afford to feed their children, then they shouldnt have them in the first place.

First, there is the distributor in America, then there is the tax, then the company in China that makes it, the exporters. You are a very intelligent person, I know you understand that Bill Gates' wealth is being used by hundreds if not thousands of other companies as investment capital to go off and do new things. Those companies are distributing that wealth to their employees who then recycle that wealth back into the economy through their own investment and consumption. You realize that for every dollar spent by an American on some good produced in China, that is one more dollar of wealth being distributed from an American to a poor Chinese worker, which in turn raises that worker's standard of living, if only by one dollar.

unfortunately, marx did not hit the mark, communism only works in theory. i agree with the fact that bill gates doesnt need 40 billion, and i agree that those who are blessed to live in a society that has so much should help out those less fortunate. but it is not our place to make others give away their money. it would be a big mistake to give the government control that much of what a person can and cannot keep. it is up to bill gates what to do with his money. if we wants to be a selfish jerk, thats his perogative

You seem to be talking about past things that failed (yes i realized it does make it more likely), but civilitations have failed, doesn't mean we should just stop trying. Yes, Bill Gates could ive with giving away 30 billion of that 40 billion, and still have pretty much everything he wants. Yes it would be damn great of him to do so. Though giving this away he would probably give it to the countries government to do something with it and they would not give a fuck abotu their people, most likely. Thats why he or someone would have to organize these farm communities and things. These people with a lot of money, arn't going to give it away. First of all, you speak as if money is some sort of limited commodity, like oil. It's not--the beauty of currency is that there is a virtually unlimited amount of money. And it's available to those willing to create capital--that is, an idea or tool that will make better use of the available resources. There is no limit to the amount of money that could be in our economy...anyone can rise to the top if they really wanted to, no matter how much money the "evil rich" have stashed away in their investments.
Furthermore, Marx advocated a system that boils down to socialism. The idea of socialism is failed in application as well as philosophy. In capitalism, the individual is motivated by greed...self-interest. In socialism, the individual can contribute to the greater good while hardly realizing a benefit to him/herself. The motivation is removed and production ceases. The Soviet Union is the perfect example--there may have been the few, the proud, the producers, but the fact remains that a large percentage of the populace just would not work. Those who worked came out of the breakdown of the Soviet Union on top...those who did not were impoverished.
History, and philosophy, is on my side in this instance. The "greater good" has never been a motivator, no matter how you cut it. Marx may have had it right in theory, but he conveniently removed one key element from the whole mix: human nature. That, my friend, is the flaw in his philosophy, and the flaw in the system of socialism.
