Holy goddamn I am bored.

For the past year or so, I've been working the night shift at a tv station. Hoorah, it was glamorous at first, but now that I've been here for 14 months, it's quickly losing its charm.

On the good nights, I watch UFC fights and cue up commercials. On the bad nights, I watch television and try not to fall asleep. The benefit to working nights, alone, is that no one is coming into my office asking me to do odd jobs for them. The downside? No one is coming into my office asking me to do odd jobs for them.

If I was really bad at my job, it would take ages for me to finish all my work -- as is, I start at 11pm, and have finished everything by 1am. That leaves another NINE HOURS of my shift to sit around.

The most fun I've had lately is dancing around past the security cameras. I know that no one is currently watching them... but I know they're recording. Maybe there will be the odd day that something goes wrong, and the tapes have to be reviewed. They'll see me and all my tap-dancing glory, and I'll laugh. I know it's pathetic, but it gets me through my shifts.

A long time ago I worked at Starbucks, and used to make figurines out of plastic cold-beverage cups. When I started working here, I was OVERJOYED that my days of making gremlins were over. I was moving up in the world. I had graduated and I had a real job!

...We've recently hired another new editor (they're a dime a dozen) and rather than introduce myself to the cute boy, I've taken to making him a small army of water bottles with glued-on eyes and paper clips arms. Poor kid. I don't think he likes me very much.

What happened to Steve?

Oh, and the water bottle army is kind of creepy.

ETS seems to think you people are part of a massive conspiracy to delude the American public regarding the truths surrounding 9/11. You know, how George Bush and the guy from Amtrak teamed up and drove a train into the WTC, then rigged all the footage to make it LOOK like a plane so people would be afraid of air travel. And take more trains. And how whenever a reporter shows a sign of telling the American public the truth (known only to a few conspiracy theorists who know the ancient art of Googling) you blow out their earpiece, killing them. So yeah, in light of all of that, what are your bennies like?

Something tells me you're a hot chick. Dunno what, but something just does.

Haha -- that audio gig was for a project I've been working on for the past two years. Looking good clearly wasn't my priority that week.

a good picture would've earned a +2, but it's a nice piece anyway...

That's unfortunate.

So, no more boom stick for you?

Graveyard shift blows.

Have you ever changed programming just a little bit, to fuck with people?

He may have come up with the recipe, but I came up with the idea of
charging $6.95 for it.
