Born in 1960, life was fairly easy for her. Her father was a hard worker regardless of the loss of his legs by a chinaman. In her lifetime she wanted for nothing as her family was well established and financially sound. Seeing that she had surpassed her family in the greater sense of the phrase, she moved on to become a prolific and acclaimed artist.
At first glance, many notice a feeling washing over them. Her simple forms are woven on the canvas to illicit a wide range of feelings. Strong and weak ones alike.
I spent the better half of a year studying her work in college. It was in all the text books under the heading "Contemporary Artist". I was simply enamored with her and her works. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
The best description of her works come from the artist's own mouth:
"My art has been commended as being strongly vaginal which bothers some men. The word itself makes some men uncomfortable. Vagina."
