They'd been preparing themselves for when the time would come. There was no doubt it would come it was only to be seen just 'when' and 'how'.
All sorts of discussions had taken place. Should they have pagers, mobiles, stick together or have runners? After going backwards and forwards for several hours, where at any given point they decided that each and every one of those options was probably the best, they finally decided that they'd have to hang in at least groups of two.
Plus they dished out pagers to each of their 'employees' pagers that could all be activated at once by any one of the four calling a single number from his mobile.
This way none of them would ever be caught on their own, which would surely be a death sentence and at any given time they had back up no more than 5 or 10 minutes away depending on what the other guys were doing.
Nowadays most of the others were shifting large quantities of coke pretty much 20 hours a day so the troops were on the streets and usually close by.

Scott called Carl to his flat one evening after all the arrangements had been made.
Entering the spacious apartment and moving directly over to the stereo, changing the Mark Levinson CD player, as Carl always did, he noticed that Scott looked pretty chilled bearing in mind the pressure that he must be under.
"You are always playing some shit that shouldn't grace the tray of a ten thousand pound Stereo set-up. Let me buy you some CD's"
"No way man, leave my CD's the fuck alone. I like this relaxing stuff, it helps me to think" Scott retorted.
"Homosexual tripe, mind you anything better would be fucking wasted on you, you philistine" Carl shot back.
"Sit down Carl for fucks sake, leave the CD's and listen to what I have".
Carl sat in the luxury leather sofa and dumped his feet on the 'antique' oak coffee table because he knew it pissed Scott off no end.
"Look" Scott said opening a cupboard under the huge TV/Projector/Cinema set up along the back wall.
Laying 4 handguns onto the table between Carl's feet Scott looked his mate in the eye. The guns on the table had the effect on Carl that all Scott's shouting and hollering could never achieve. He slammed his feet onto the wooden flooring so that he could sit up and handle the pistols.
"Shit....... Where the FUCK did you get these?"
"A contact, now put that fucker down before you blow your bollocks off. Pick two, one for you one for Jarvis, take it and learn how to use it. Learn how it works and how to keep it working, that my friend is going to save your life one day soon".

The following day and all four had their new toys. Boxes of ammunition had been stashed in all sorts of locations. Car's, bars and flats. They could, besides what they carried, get to another 250 rounds each within ten minutes of needing to. The only questions that needed answering was did either of them have the bollocks to use them?
