Jet Li sold out like a cheap date on prom night!
I can't fucking believe it; I have been looking forward to the "Last Epic of Jet Li" for the last couple of months at least. Eagerly anticipating the fabulous fight scenes that he has come to purport, only to be kicked in the face by a giant piece of Hollywood crap that I can only assume was approved of by Jet himself. Allow me to explain, I went to the local theatre and got my $8.50 ticket to "Fearless" anxiously waiting for the ass kicking to begin. After what seemed like 30 minutes of trailers the movie began. And for the first 10 maybe 15 minutes at most, the movie appeared to be going rather well. And then it happened, not new Jet Li footage but rather hacked in, digitally re-mastered, color enhanced pieces of OLD footage from movies he had been in before! I couldn't fucking believe my eyes! Jet Li was actually touting his LAST EPIC martial arts film and it was a few new scenes spliced in with old stuff I had seen already! Now don't get me wrong maybe this has happened before but if I am going to see the last movie made by one of the greatest martial artists I have ever had the pleasure of following I would prefer not to be watching film that was made YEARS before! I am not part of his GFN (see http://www.jetli.com/gfn/join.php ) however I have touted his exploits and his BIO to many people, I have seen every movie of his sold in the continental US whether it was dubbed in English or simply still in Chinese. So to have this PIECE OF SHIT pushed on me was not only insulting it was fucking infuriating! I was so pissed off that after a mere 45 minutes I walked out and asked for my money back. The only time I have ever done that was with Will Ferrell's movie "Anchorman". And I love him, I saw "Talladega Nights" 3 times at the theatre so at least he redeemed himself. I think if this is going to be Jet's last martial arts film he's going to find the rest of his movie career sucking the big giant puss infected, std carrying, open sore oozing, donkey pole! Maybe after the first 45 minutes he redeemed himself and the rest was entirely new footage, to be honest, I don't know. I just could not handle watching this POS. I'm so upset that I am seriously thinking of selling all the DVD and VHS movies of his that I currently own. And I own a lot! For a guy who has the history that he does (see http://www.jetli.com/jet/index.php?s=life&ss=biography ) I cannot believe that he actually signed off on this. I mean I heard him this past week on the Opie and Anthony show touting this new movie. See http://www.foundrymusic.com/opieanthony/displayheadline.cfm/id/10430/div/opieanthony/headline/MONDAY_LINKS__SPIKE_FERESTEN__JET_LI__JIMMY_SHUBERT__COMING_TO_CLEVELAND_THIS_FRIDAY__NEW_VIDEO.html
But I digress, bottom line is Jet Li took a shortcut on what was supposed to be his last film and for those of us who have followed his career, especially in the US from his first film here (Lethal Weapon 4, the only film he played the villain in) to the current movie Fearless, we deserved more than some new footage spliced in with old stuff we have already seen. Jet, I am disappointed, your fans will most certainly be disappointed and you sir, should be ashamed of yourself.
Sincerely a former, Jet Li fan who will never spend even one more second watching your movies. Good luck on your new, "sans" martial arts, acting career.

Should have seen Jackass 2 instead.

Jackass 2 is out? That's how out of touch you get living in South America.
At first I was dissapointed reading this, I love Jet Li, but then you said the genius that is Anchorman was tripe, so I wonder now if I'll think the same about the last Jet Li flick.

Was a huge Jet Li fan too which is why it was so dissapointing. Rob, yeah angst ridden is an understatement but I don't spend money on BS.

Thanks for the angst-ridden confirmation 'Fearless' was dripping with suck. Now I'm less likely to waste my money on that stinker.
At least you had the balls to get yer money back, asshole.

I heard an interview with him on the subject of this being his last movie.
Turns out, it's just a mis-interpretation that has lead to this being labeled his last martial arts film.
In the original language, the phrase meant more about the spiritual aspects of martial arts, and he meant that it was going to be the last film that incorporated focus on the spiritual side, not just the physical.
So Jet Li will be in other movies, and even preforming martial arts in them.

Actually on the O & A interview he said he would be doing fight scenes but no longer doing the martial arts fight scenes he has been doing. Regardless of whether he does or doesn't, they touted the movie as his last, they DID in fact hack in older movies he'd been in for the better part of the first 45 minutes of the movie. If someone can tell me they made it through it and it turned out good I will absolutely eat crow, as a matter of fact I would love it!
