I've never really been much of an art critic. I couldn't tell the difference between Monet and Marmite, but I do know what I like - When artists have the gall (or the alcohol) to go against the grain and produce something a little bit different. Here's a selection of images I've seen over the past couple of years that have made me wonder just exactly what was going through the minds of the artists as they made them.............

If you like that Frederic Odman piece, you would probably dig Dave McKean's stuff... http://www.ubersite.com/m/87170

Weird. I saw a french movie with people that looked exactly like the "Cruel World" guy. I can't remember the name though...
Does anyone know what movie i'm talking about?

For some reason, the Caesar one reminded me of that thing in Toy Story 2 with the baby doll head and the spider-like body. Weird but cool.
"Cruel World" is also pretty kick-ass.

"bad thoughts" freaks me out. i love it. i like art that makes me think even if the thoughts induce a shudder.

Ray Caeser looks like one weird little bunny.

He certainly does. For some reason, the picture reminds me of Baby Mordred in the last part of Stephen King's Dark Tower. I guess it's the whole child and spider thing.

I like the majority of these, but it's hard to appreciate something when you cover different genres and mediums. If you like something, pick out a bunch in that category or medium, just f.y.i for the future. This is a 1.7983898593482928010398034890420931 but I'm rounding up to a 2.000000000000000000000000000000000 for you.
