In the 1930's, a new form of commercial art hit the market. It was a provocative little movement dubbed "cheesecake," or more commonly "pin-up." One of the most famous pin-up models is without a doubt the immortal Bettie Page. But of course, these classic images would not have been possible had it not been for their creator Olivia DeBerardinis.
DeBerardinis was born in 1948 and began to develop her artistic skills by sketching portraits of her exceptionally beautiful mother, Connie. Being constantly amazed by the impact her mother's appearance and personality had on men she became fascinated with feminine mystique. Now, she has transcended the realm of the pin-up and is widely accepted as a true in-demand artist, with fans worldwide attending showings and collecting the lithographs and card art that has become her signature.
Now, I haven't included any Bettie Page in this collection simply because I found other subjects to be more attractive and interesting to look at.
