Ah, I don't remember actually reading it, I think I just read a bit and saw Manitoba and jumped to conclusions. That's cool then, I'm not actually from Toronto grew up north of it and currently live west of it. That's all I'll divulge on Uber though, I'd prefer to remain anonymous when there's squatails murking about.

I do the same thing, I was cheering for Edmonton in the playoffs last year. I also refuse to cheer for Ottawa on principle. I am from Ontario, the Manitoba thing was a wishful thinking story I wrote last year about taking a road trip to BC. A few users took me seriously, but I think a few caught on after a while.
The rest of the country does hate Toronto, with good reason really. I work downtown and I loathe this city. And really the rest of the country doesn't like Ontario as a whole, I think they believe we're spoiled or something. Where are you from?

Good to hear. I'm realistic about it too. I know there's no chance of a cup this year, and we'll be lucky to make the playoffs. I pretty much cheer for all Canadian teams except for Ottawa because I just can't. Are you from Ontario Susie? I thought I read somewhere on here about Manitoba or something? If you're not from Ontario then you'd be a fairly rare person to like Toronto as most of the country doesn't. If you are, then we should gang up on Caul, simply because he loathes Ontario.

Don't get me wrong, Dart. I'm a fan, but I'm a realistic one. They rarely do well against Ottawa, except in playoffs games. They did play relatively well last night, their defence has always been weak. They rely too heavily on a talented goaltender and leave most of the defence to him. I'm interested to see what the new coach will do. I was sad to see Quinn go, but like you said, he was getting stale and so were his game plans. Time for a change.
I was happy to see the line they put together with Sundin, Ponichorovski (sp) and Wellwood. Wellwood is a talented kid.

Toronto will do better this year simply because they finally got rid of Pat Quinn. He was good in his day, but getting stale. The new coach is already looking good, I liked the lines.

WOOT! Big surprise in the Leafs opening game: they were walked on by the Senators. What's sad is that Alfredson didn't even bring his A-game.

I don't think they played all that terrible, Susie. The goaltending wasn't bad, Peca played pretty awesome, Sundin played well; their biggest problem is slow/ stupid defence, which has been their problem for a while now and getting Gill wasn't the brightest idea.
Ottawa's goalie played awesome, Toronto had over 30 shots on net, you know.
