Shit.

How fucked can one man be? Sure, it was kind of my fault, seeing as how I slaughtered this slut, but I was under duress. The kind of duress you get when you've been dragged halfway across the country by some whack-job with a carful of skag. The kind of duress you get when you have just killed a man to save your own sorry ass.

Think quick! I mopped up the blood from the floor outside the rooms can with the towels, dragged her outside and down the stairs, wrapped in the hotel sheets. Shoved her body in a culvert, and returned to the room. I showered for what felt like an hour, using a shirt to dry off. After I threw all my shit together, I went out to the balcony.

Nothing short of a sharp kick to the ribs would wake Thane up, or at least I assumed so. I didn't bother trying anything else.

"Wakey wakey, you fuck. We have to motor. Now."

"Where's Carla?"

Great, she had a name. No time for explanations.

"She left. Forget her, we have to move."

After a few seconds of protest, I pulled out the pistol I used just hours ago. Thane got the hint pretty quick, and was ready to go in five minutes.

On the road once again, we made our way to the highway. So we didn't have a female driver to cover us anymore. We could adjust. I took the wheel, I was less likely to be noticed anyway.

As we neared an exit, I noticed a statie on the left shoulder with his lights flashing. Instinctively, I changed lanes in hopes of hiding the plates on the Caravan. Seconds later, I realized he had been writing a ticket to some hapless fool in a Corsica. I took the exit
and drove around this anonymous little town for a bit, until I found a similarly colored Caravan in a shopping center parking lot. Abandoned, most likely, sitting in a plaza lot at 4 am, so I took the liberty of switching the plates, just for good measure.

Still, I couldn't help but wonder what was in store for me next.

I hadn't seen this before, so I thought I'd give you a push to do some more!

Encouragement +2.

Marge, look at me! We've been separated for a day, and I'm as dirty
as a Frenchman. In another few hours, I'll be dead. I can't afford
to lose your trust again.
