I hate flying.
Wait, no I don't. I don't mind it. I'm not one of those people with such an inflated sense of self-importance that I think the plane is going to crash because I'm on it. I don't get scared of the altitude and I don't mind the popping in the ears.
I don't like air travel because it takes me away from my true love: the road. I've always loved road trips, especially long ones. Most people don't hate driving, but don't like it enough to be able to enjoy a thirteen hour drive. Not me. I see it as an escape, an adventure, something to enjoy.
Five hundred miles and fourteen hundred mp3s away, there's a girl. She's kinda into me, but she won't come here, and I'm cool with that. She lives off of an obscure spur route of Interstate 76. I-876. The first time I drove it, I thought it was nothing special.
It wasn't. Neither was the girl.
But my love affair with the road hasn't ended. In fact, I ended up spending the whole weekend on a road trip. I don't intend to deprive myself of any more sleep, and I certainly don't intend to apologize to you people for having a real life that got in the way. Vote for the other guy.
