Selling twenty-five percent of your dead husband's legacy does not a good widow make.

This single action completely personifies the bruised, drug-ridden mass of lies, greed, and ugly that is Courtney Love. I'm sure that if it were possible, Kurt would commit suicide a second time after hearing about this.

Using my alter, bokinsmowls (originally Darko's alter), I made a post about her, using horrible spelling and punctuation. It can be found here: http://www.ubersite.com/m/92971

Although I do not believe Courtney killed Kurt, she definitely drove him to suicide. She single-handedly took an already depressed man and pushed him as far under the water as she could, until he finally cracked.

As we all know, Kurt hated money and popularity, especially the 'fans' who only listened to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and nothing else. I, however, am a true fan, owning With The Lights Out, many bootlegs, and other stuff.

The only time Kurt would ever try to purposefully make money would be for charities, like the AIDS charity No Alternative (he donated a song to them, called "Sappy"). At the time of his death, he had a net worth of a mere one million dollars, Courtney having a lot more than that, even though her band was only mildly successful compared to Nirvana. The only probable answer for this is that she leeched off of him.

By all reports, when he left the Exodus Drug Rehab Center on April 1, 1994, and returned to Seattle, he planned to dissolve the band and divorce Courtney Love. He never carried this out, and shot himself on April 5.

Selling twenty-five percent of your dead husband's legacy does not a good widow make.

I am basically at a loss for words to describe this atrocity (which explains the harsh blandness of my vocabulary in this post).

And this isn't the first time she tried to screw him over beyond the grave. She blocked the release of "You Know You're Right", the final studio song he ever recorded. After a tiring legal battle, the song was released in late 2002, and became a #1 hit. The song, in my opinion, is one of the best songs of the last 25 years. It's basically a note to his daughter that he will leave the world soon. A sad song, but still one of the best songs ever.

Also, Elvis is probably pissed off at this as well. If Nostradamus is correct, Zombie Elvis and Zombie Kurt will rise from the dead and destroy the evil blob known as Courtney Love sometime around 2009.

Fuck it all. I'm tired as fucking hell. I need sleep. Oh, and all the people who voted for me as "Worst Poster" in Kaos-King's Uber Elections, thank you for your support. Actually, not really. In fact, I hope everyone who voted for me as "Worst Poster" chokes on a feces-smothered dildo.

Here is the WAV file for "You Know You're Right". Revel in its infinite awesomeness.

Peace out.

a friend of mine met Courtney Love in Tokyo. he slapped her so hard she fell down and said "that's for killing Kurt, you bitch!" and promptly ran away to evade arrest.

no, i'm serious. he's made the national news two times that i know of for doing things that are completely insane and he has been kicked out of five countries. he's a legend.

Jimi Hendrix's family is similar. I heard a couple of years ago they were selling soil samples from Jimi's grave. Now that's perverse!

Don't get me wrong, I really never cared much for Nirvana. I was more of a NIN guy.

Anyhow...

First of all, we must remember that Indononja is blind to all beauty and art in this world, unless it promotes the glory of his God & Country. Actually, this isn't really true, as Indo is merely a "Super Alter."

Only modern day artists feel this strange need to "Keep It Real," and suffer for their art. People like Van Gough, Poe and a number of classical composers would have bitch slapped Cobain for even thinking he was miserable. Only a slim handful of our great creators were famous during their own lives. The vast majority of them did not receive recognition until quite a bit of time later, when the next generation of artists dicovered their work and applauded their brilliance. The thing is, this is the way it went for centuries and most creators (if you could ask them now) would be just fine with that.

Only today, with our instant gratification media, do we act as if we have failed if we haven't contributed to the arts in a significant way by the age of 30. Hell, Lovecraft died at 35 (?) with most of his works unpublished and now he is considered the Grandfather of Modern Horror with entire anthologies devoted in his honor. He died less than 75 years ago! Anyone who thinks that he would be angry or upset to see his work repackaged and distributed all over the world is woefully naive.

Yes, there is something to be said for Artistic Integrity. In the end, quality and vision is what will sell over the years. A band that keeps changing their style to match the popular trend may sell more albums in the short run, but they will never be remembered the way bands who pioneered their own way will be. This isn't to call experimentation into question, but rather it implicates the artists that have gone along with the culture, against their natural abilities and failed.

In the end, modern artists have to realize and take note of their predecessors. What artists do, what they create, isn't for themselves - it is for others, especially for the other artists of the future. It is their legacey, it is what they are attempting to give back to culture. They should not be expected to be lavisciously rewarded for their endevours in this life, necessarily. I think, in some ways, Cobain knew this and struggled against that concept VS the modern-day media machine.

Nobody made them make a video.

(Yeah you're right. But a boardroom full of record execs choose to market it to MTV the way it was. Toss Kurt Loader a few and you're all good. After it was thrown into the mainstream requests kept it playing ~assuming that you are talking about teen spirit btw~ but it was pushed through by the indusrty by lots of $$$$ and diregard.)

Nobody made them sign with a major label.

(True. They should have stayed with SUBPOP)

I am sick of all the twats out there who feel anything even approaching sympathy for people who fall face forward into money doing something they enjoy.

(You're jealous)

Fuck that, he was a miserable fuck who couldn't handle success. I liked his music, but I feel no sympathy for a dumbass who has everything and blows his brains out because dumb teens only rock out to one of his songs.

(Yes. Yes he was. You know what good on you. You changed my mind...I'm glad too that he killed himself....yeah fuck him! It would have been great if he had shot his wife too....that would have been more rock and roll. Maybe they would find them a week later or something neato like that. WEAK PEOPLE ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT COMMIT SUICIDE RIGHT? RIGHT? THAT'S WHAT IT MUST BE!
ALL ARE COWARDS WHO TAKE THEIR OWN LIVES!!!!!!!!!)

Let me pose a question to anybody who is quick to write off all the "Cobains" of music as self indulgent. If someone took your art, your muse, your passion, cut it up, sold it and packaged it without your control, how would you feel? Don't gimme this " you know what you're getting into" shit. You just want it to be heard by more than your pals drunk on a Saturday night. You want people to enjoy your music but that means you loose your control. Next thing you know your called the pioneers of a completely new music scene....grunge....what the fuck it that? People are asking you about your personal life, writing shit about you and your family, weirdos are sitting outside your house. It would choke you and you would consider why you're doing it. What for? So David Geffen can buy another Jag? Fuck you.

I for one am torn.

On one hand, I am sick of hearing about Kurt Cobain, yeah, I loved Nirvana back in the day, but they have been gone for 12 years, either pretend Kurt is alive and report "Kurt Sightings" Like Elvis or Tupac, like any respoctable fan in denial, or give it up and understand he is dead.

On the other hand, I hate Courtney love, her vagina can be detected from up to 2 miles away by Police K9 units and Gieger counters.

So,
+2 for hating on Courtney
-1 for Bringing up Kurt
-1 for not mentioning Francis Bean is a champoin for calling BOTH of her parents crazy.

I had bookmarked the article yesterday in the hopes of posting about this today. I'm glad you did. It's pretty nuts to think that we will soon here the beginning riff of Teen Spirit or something and then hear "The new FORD f-150". Kurt would hate this. Should Courtney have gone ahead and sold off 25% of his songbook? No, probably not. But she can, and she did. I know all this shit was a big deal to some people 12 years ago but it carries through. It depends on your age I guess. For me, Nirvana opened me up to enjoy rock music. Before that there was a lot of crap. My parents opened me up to some good music, but it was theirs. It's different as a kid when you find your "own" music. Something your parents tell you to turn down and say is crapola. You become drawn to it.

It was all timing for the trio in the early 90's. They would have been better off as a kick ass garage band out of Aberdeen that folks from Vancouver and Washington could go see...a local classic like DOA. Commercial rock success is the shits. Yeah you make good money, but if you never had any to begin with it's more a burden then a blessing. "Self indulgent rock musicians" do exist. They are pricks and most of them are self proclaimed "rappers" and "pop stars". Kurt wasn't one of these people. He thought the whole thing was weird and even humourous at times. I've seen plenty of interviews where he explained that. Eventually your get sucked into the mainstream because some rock writer decides to call it the "it" scene....yeah man....we'll call it grunge! Let me pose a question to anybody who is quick to write off all the "Cobains" of music as self indulgent. If someone took your art, your muse, your passion, cut it up, sold it and packaged it without your control, how would you feel? Don't gimme this " you know what you're getting into" shit. What for? So David Geffen can buy another Jag? Fuck you.

The music remains the same for some of us. I still play there albums...and they still make me tap my foot and smile remembering being care free, young and stupid.

Whatever.

Who cares. Watch him explain grunge and not me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3U1ZaeBs20

It's been done and it doesn't mean shit to Kurt. It's just his fans that care now and they don't matter either. Sorry I even wrote this....but fuck it.
