After three years, eight months, two weeks and six days, this competition is about to wrap up.
I'm going to just cut to the chase and name the two finalists, becuase this post is late enough in being posted as is. The handful of drive-by ratings were removed and scores were recalculated in order to ward off the bullshit. Your final round authors, then, are:

Please don't count Kaos' entry as a forfeit. I only scraped through an earlier round due to someone showing mercy when I missed a deadline (due to horrible reading comprehension). Also, I don't think I should have advanced at the expense of Mike.

Stagger, I had a hell of a time with your titles, but I ended up combining two of them. Regardless, it still proved an excercise in stress-related creativity. Ultimately, the tale itself is futile - I missed the deadline due to some unexpected circumstances in the Real World and thereby lost the final round. In many ways it is fitting, since my head is so loosely screwed on right now I'm not even entirely sure where the hell the story I just posted came from.

I REALY, really want to do "You Better Run To The City Of Refuge."
However, I can't seem to get my mind to stray from what I created in "The Twilight Country."
Doing a sequel would be lame and the other two titles aren't grabbing me at all.
Stagger, just so you know - I may be stealing that "City Of Refuge" in the future.

I'm actually sort of bummed it's ending. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did, just because while I do enjoy the genre, I thought it might get a bit repetitive. Several of the writers have written some seriously creative stories throughout the comp. Congratulations, Stag & K-K, you deserve it. But O, Jack, Bigmike, Anansie, Forensic, H_V, etc..you've all impressed me, for true.
