So, I guess Saddam was decided to die at the business end of a noose. Maybe he deserves to hang by his neck 'til death. I think so, but maybe only for the moment.
Either way, I'm sure he'll try to absolve the two fiends declared to die at his side.
Are they his thieves?
Does he get to be a "Christ," too?
Will millions die for this, too, in the long run?
Or is it mere hundreds or thousands in the next few days or weeks or months?
Is it okay either way?
Or, in a modern world, is it somehow different from "okay" and "not okay"?
Should Bush hang beside them?
Or maybe you?
Me?
And, in such a case, should Rumsfeld be tied to the gallows and shot at Bush's feet?
Or God?
Allah?
Someone?
No one?
Or is Saddam's fate essentially irrelevant to the present and future?
To the Iraqis?
Does it actually change anything?
Any of it?
What about the Middle East?
Iraq is knocked down a peg. Okay. What about the rest of them?
Sure, people celebrate. Others protest. Others die.
Others cry.
Others laugh.
Others look away.
20 year old boys, my age, are there to deal with it, regardless.

A crime against humanity, indeed. The dead Kurds in the pit are as tragic as the dead Marines in the humvees are as tragic as the.....the undue dead.
I only hope we can leave these people in true peace, someday. And even if we can't, and maybe we really can't...I hope peace finds a way to find them, even if it takes a hundred years. In the far east, Asian warlords slaughtered countless people, for generations, to forge the Asia of today. Should we expect more or less from the Middle East?
Should we start expecting it tomorrow? Has the West made a point and left its footprint in the Arab sands? Will they acknowledge it, or brush it away with a quick swipe?
Can you blame them either way at this point?
I'm sorry if we slowed down their quest for peace. They're welcome if we sped it up.
