I finally got the guitar, nearly four months after I ordered it. It is the most beautiful (inanimate) thing I have ever touched, and it sounds like something out of a dream.
My girlfriend is jealous of this guitar.

I did play it before I ordered it.
I was in Mike's Music in Toronto and at the time I didn't have the cash to buy it on the spot. So, I saved up for a little while, then ordered it from a store in my hometown (for a price less than the one Mike's was asking).

i'm going to have to agree. i made sure i played my Les Paul for a good hour before i bought it and it's absolutely incredible. i love playing Strats and Telecasters too, but my Paul just has sustain like you wouldn't believe and such a warm tone.
anyway, good on you for reaching your goal and attaining the guitar you dreamed of having. it's a sweet feeling, isn't it?
