For some reason, everyone in this town, nay, this country, seems to have a predilection for betting on the Melbourne Cup.

I suppose it *is* Melbourne, though.

Never mind the animal cruelty and social depravity of it all. Yes, "we" "all" love our gambling, drunken-ness, one-upmanship, and sexism.

Chauvinism for all! Not just the Rich!
