Does anyone else find it Ironic that Montana still can't tell us who won their Senate race? It's number 44 in terms of population. Going by the average voter turnout in the US that means they have about 30 or 40 votes to count. Why the fuck haven't they finished yet?

Don't worry. I understand that typing one sentence and stealing one picture can take a while. 27 minutes late is no big deal.

Funny.
Some states actually accept certain date post-marked absentee ballots up to X number of days after the election. They could be waiting for those all to arrive before making announcements official.
Other states may automatically do a recount if the election total is close. This one would certainly be that close.
I'm not sure of the circumstances, but I would guess that the ballots are arriving via horseback from the small towns going into the capitol. They have to avoid bandits and train robbers, I think.

How is that relevant? I'm fairly certain by 2006 Montana has been introduced to the concept of these new fangled electronic communication devices known as telephones, computers and fax machines... Should the fact that they have to count up several subsets of the vote in a decentralized fashion delay them so much that half way through Wednesday they still don't know? I don't think so. There's still 5 or 10 other states in a similar situation and they got their shit done. Montana needs to get their collective thumb out of their ass and get busy counting those god damned votes!
