For those you who showed interest I thought I would advise you all of my happy ending.
My ex ran off with my daughter to Nevada after hearing the ad Lidem on the case, the child's attorney, would not be siding with her on her promise to not let my daugther have a father.
Well, I was given the choice to walk away by the judge due to the cost I would have to endure to get her, but who could just walk away from their child, I know I could not do that. So I advised my attorney that I would do what ever necessary to have my baby girl back with me.
So first we had to process the paperwork and file all kinds of stuff with weird latin names to tune of 3500 dollars. Then we had to hire a private investigator to find her, confirm her identity and serve her with the paperwork. We were able to find a retired sheriff to the tune of 85 dollars an hour, thus costing me another 3000 dollars.
Then once she was served, and knew her location, my attorney made many phone calls and planned the strike. Unfortunately I only had 2 days notice, heard on a Monday, needed to leave by Wednesday, of when I needed to leave to Nevada, so a plane ticket was out of the question. My wife and I decided we would drive to Nevada, 28 hours straight, to make it there by Friday morning.
The trip was kind of fun, almost adventerous cause neither of us had ever treked so far from home without a guide of some sort. All we had to guide us was some google map instructions and a our cell phones.
I don't think I ever drank so many energy drinks or at as much fast food in my life, and I seriously gained 8 pounds from the trip.
We crossed into Nevada by 12:30am Friday morning and headed to Reno. The trip from Cali to Reno was a scary one. It was very dark outside, we in a two lane road that wound and turned a lot and there were 30 foot high trees on both sides so I could not see a thing and I had not slept in over 24 hours and was completely exhausted. It was like a scene out of a horror movie, I had both hands on the wheel like a wuss and my eyes wide open for over an hour until we could see the bright casino lights in Reno.
We checked into a Motel 6, slept for 5 hours, and hit the court by 8am. Now anyone knows that the civil court system is very backed up, and the workers there are often far from pleasant, but this changed my thinking forever.
We walked in, asked for the family court floor, and was directed to a office on the first floor. We spoke with them, explained the situation and they were actually aware of our arrival and had our paperwork handy. The office manager showed 15 minutes later, filed our paperwork ahead of everyone else on her list, and had it over the judge within a matter of 60 minutes. Then came the wait.
My wife and I were biting our nails, trying to eat a little bit and most of all, stay the fugg awake. We finally got the call back to the court house, but there was a problem, the Texas family court is stating that we do not have all the current paperwork. We call our attorney, who promptly calls the court building, chews on a few supervisors, and finally someone calls the Nevada court back to advise that we do actually have the right paperwork. After a brief meeting with the judge, we have our order for pick up.
We immediately drive to the police station, both anxious to see my baby girl and scared of what is going to take place. Is mom going to try to run, is she still at the same spot, how dramatic this will be for my daughter, our minds were racing.
We go up to the front desk, a lady there is very nice, but has no idea what to do with my pick up order. Apparently this is not a common occurence, so we make another call to my attorney who advises us to speak with a Commander. He then provides us with a 20 year hardened veteran, who is a nice guy but plays like a total dick to us at every chance.
We follow him over the apartments, park in a place that we can not be seen, and wait. As we are sitting there waiting, tired minds racing, exhuasted hearts beating, weary heads sweating we see another cop car come flying by us. We start to panic, we think my ex has flipped and is doing something stupid but then our hardened cop pulls into the drive.
I get out of my truck, tired, sweaty, exhausted and run to my little girl who drops her bags and jumps into my arms. I swear it was a scene from out of a movie. I hugged her, she hugged me, and I shed a tear or two.
We hopped in the car and started our 28 hour drive back to Texas.
I'm just glad to have her, she is having a blast in her own room and her own toys, our neighbor has a little girl the same age so they play for hours on end.
I would say this is the happiest of happy endings for me, I have my baby girl back.
I promised a cam whore, so this is a pick of me and my brady bunch family all together at last.

My wife is hispanic, those are my step kids. :)
I didn't put the ex in jail cause then my baby girl would have had to go to foster care. This was harder for me, but easier for my baby girl.
