As I laid on the soft over grown grass I took the world into me. The sun as just beginning to set in all its greatness. You could have seen it a thousands times but this time it was different. The smell of tall grass seed blew so lightly by me, while the crickets chirped in perfect unison like a symphony. And yet you could some how smell the home cooked meal for a family after a hard day on the farm. The smell of creamed corn and a turkey and chicken slowly roasted till perfection drifted from its far away point of the farm house miles away. No laughter could be heard in the silence that was broken every so often by the slow subtle wind that drummed the leafs on the great oak tree. The scence couldn't even have been reproduced by Hollywood, not with their best actor or the most expensive effects nothing could match the moment. Nothing would ever match the smell of grass freshly cut, or the smell of the perfect dinner and new bread. Nothng could match the soft wind and sounds of nature. Nothing could match the rich colors brought by the sun and its gleam.
But as I lay I knew why I was laying. I had come to perhaps my final resting place and nothing could be more perfect. Memories floated back into my mind of old and new friends. Family came with them for one last visit while strangers faces came to mind. I started to remember my childhood. Running in the cool mountain steam as a boy attempting to catch fish with no pole. Baseball games in the old dirt lot with a brand new leather glove. The idea of a first job. Graduation from high school on the very same night many many years ago. The marriage that now was no more due to life's cycle. Grandchildren who I taught every ounce of knowledge to. The old farm with its smells of family, food and comfort. While it was miles away the smells floated back to me as I laid in the grass and stated at the beautiful sky. The memories kept floating back into my mind even as I began to close my eyes, nothing would ever be more perfect.

Apart from the odd spelling error (running in a cool mountain steam?) it's very nicely written and has a nice atmosphere about it.
