this really shows the difference between the 1960s and today, just about anyone could be a model then but now you need to be almost inhumanly hot to get anywhere in the modeling business.

Dark Side came out in the early 70s, but I liked this.

True, but I put that in there for Pink Floyd as it is probably the most recognizeable image from the band, wouldn't you agree?
-----------------

You are right for the 60's, ther 4 albums they released are probably unrecognisable to most folk.

Argualbly the other image you could have used was The Wall artwork but of course that is later still.

This was missing at least three things. The Grateful Dead, Big Brother and the Holding Company, and Pink Floyd.

Needs more Yardbirds. A nice still from the movie "Blow Up," depicting Jeff Beck AND Jimmy Page will do.

+2 for my generation.

The sixties and seventies were a pretty cool time to grow up in.
---------------------
We had this one rock & roll group form in my home town; they drove around in a van painted like the one in this post -- or maybe it was a small school bus. These pics and images bring back a lot of memories for me.

Jimi Hendrix is *still* widely regarded as the best guitarist ever. I heard a great radio interview re Hendrix recently -- done by radio announcers, producers and some of today's guitar players. What sticks with me is one comment that went something like this: "They STILL don't know how he (Jimi) made some of those sounds!" (scary)

*Ahem* When the 60s started, I was 11, and when they ended I was 20. I'm fucking old, but I wouldn't pick any other time for growing up. I saw social and musical changes that did not take place before or since. Speaking of music, all Hendrix had available back then basically was a fuzz tone and a whammy bar on the guitar. Maybe a wah wah pedal. They say everything else was playing ability and feedback, but I think he visited The Crossroads...

cruel. Everything is cruel. So excuse me if I'm cruel.
