i like to see peoples eyes when they laugh, because that's when they look their best

music lifts the weights that sit on my chest
rain and sunshine at the same time is one of all time favorite things. i already told you that maybe, but it's true. next time you get to experience that, go walk around in it and think about me.

i like to hear kids laughing
last week a huge storm swept over the midwest. late wednesday night it started to sprinkle freezing rain after having been about 70F. thursday when i woke up it was sleeting. i always turn my face up and catch the weather, whatever it is, when i first step outside. the way the ice feels against your face is refreshing, like it's stripping away the nasty outside you. it kept up all day long, ice pouring out of the sky. i made a roaring fire when i got home, tended it all night long. at around midnight, the water that heaven was hurling at us became a bit softer.
i took the dog out into the snow, his first ever, and he was scared out of his mind. i didn't care because i didn't want him to shit on the floor. once he realized it wouldn't hurt him he was impossible to get back indoors.
i stood under cover of the patio and watched him run, ass down head up, through the already drifting snow, throwing up a cloud of white everywhere he went. if dogs smile he was smiling.
there was lightning and thunder during the snowstorm...odd, that. the lighting just illuminated the whole sky from behind the lower lying cloud cover. the thunder was muted, a huge buzzing sound that just bored into your head. the air was heavy.
it snowed all night long. when i woke up the fire was dead, so was the electricity. i could see my breath inside the house.
half a tree down in my yard, 10 inches of snow.
i love that.
a blanket that silences the world. all the humans stay indoors, i go out to feel the silence. the only sound is that delicious crunch crunch crunch under your feet.
i didn't get power back until sunday afternoon.

i feel creatively dead.
my camera sits on a shelf at home.
my musical instruments gather dust.
i can't concentrate anymore.
my newest accessory is a lowgrade, never-ending headache.
fucking muse has flown the coop. what a bitch.
