2006 started out like any other year on Uber. Alters flamed, Fat Tony acted like an idiot, and Habeeb was still banned for the 8th time. Sadly, a long-time Uberuser had died during New Years. But things kept rolling onward. 1/11 Badassmofo started the Uber Awards http://www.ubersite.com/m/82204, where Uber was able to decide the best noob, worst alter, most likely to be a greasy 15-year-old, etc. and he would eventually post the results. With all this going on, Squattail emailed Method to ask if he could lend him an alter. Method obliged, giving Squattail the password for his alter ZeroBootFuck. January 24th also heralded the return of Hidden101, with Ruin Someone's Happy Moment http://www.ubersite.com/m/82819. Nobody realized it then, but this would cause a hell of a lot of trouble seven months down the line...

On 2/16 Morph Morph Morphe Ejaculate http://ubersite.com/m/84135 by the new alter Amorphous was posted. Amorphous' goal was to copy Uberusers' writing styles, such as transformer had done. He flamed people with +2s, pissed off Thorpe, pushed one of Ghola's posts to 1st heated by reviewing it 40 times in five minutes, and generally fucked around.
I am Amorphous, and he was my alter. I was intrigued by the idea of transformer, and decided to try it out for my own. Aside from posting in Orgasmatron's or Habeeb's style, being an alter, I decided to use it for good, not evil. I never gave out -2s, except to one person.

His ideas were met with mixed approval—but the things that were getting heated arguments were Electrictoothsyndrome and his spiral into anti-government postings. His posts filled up the most-heated meter, and there was a terrific backlash to what some felt were his patronizing, condescending attitude and his tendency to -2 Indoninja, Wardy, DCWoody, myself, and others who disagreed with his points.

Around late April, Jgreening admitted to having forty-five alters, eight of them verified, for use in an "alter project." Oathmeal became pissed and started -2ing people and acting like an idiot...more on him later.
And then...it began. The Growingfamily disaster.
Hidden101 had originally started the idea back in January http://www.ubersite.com/m/82819, where fifteen to twenty users had vandalized the Growingfamily pages, and I had posted the results http://www.ubersite.com/m/83190. But on 8/22, Method recharged the vandalism with http://ubersite.com/m/92137, and all of Ubersite joined in to attack the Growingfamily site in a virtual war.

The backlash was incredible. Jgreening reached a new low 10/22 http://www.ubersite.com/m/94743 with Lies I have told in life, detailing how nearly everything he's posted on Ubersite has been a total lie for attention and to make him seem less pathetic. Oathmeal confronted Sicosemen, and in the process, posted HIS OWN ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER on his own post. He then attacked Scourge for -2ing him, which sparked a massive -2ing war between the parties; these were Scourge's first -2s given out in months. Oathmeal lost his mind, posting "fuck you bart" eight times and finishing up with lemonparty and his password.

Uber is like a huge dysfunctional family. We have the slutty older sister knocked up by the sonofabitch skater punk down the block (Cabaret Girl), we have the abusive father cracking his belt across his bratty kids' backs (Method), we have the "special" 3rd-grader in the "special" school who rides the "special" bus to school (Habeeb), and we have the teen who rebels against his parents by wearing Slipknot T-shirts and listening to "hardcore" stuff like Marilyn Manson (Squattail).
We're all a family here. JonnyX might hate Sphagnum, but the community is close enough that they at least acknowledge each others' existence. Out of the around 500 active users, we all pretty much know each other.
On other forums, there are 2 million users, and it's all anonymous. I can't do that after knowing Uber. We're all here together, we're all bored at work, so we might as well entertain each other with stories, writings, and MS Paint.
Thanks, Bart, for making all this, and thank you Uberusers for playing along with Bart's psychological project. Even though we're all anonymous, we can start enough drama with one another to fill up an entire HISTORY. Uber is cool. So is Goatse for that matter, but Uber is better.

Say if somebody visits this post and clicks ten links, I would get ten hits for that one person. If this post were to get 1000 hits normally (probably 500 regularly and another 500 for being on heated) that would really translate to 10000 hits, given that everyone who visits here visits ten links. It's all to do with the way Bart runs the site.
With each visit of the page, even a backspace, the page refreshes to show any new reviews and ratings, so that the page doesn't have to be refreshed on its own or revisited in a link. It's a convenient thing for staying in communication, and also tends to boost up the hits on posts with a lot of outward-going hyperlinks.
