In attempt to raise public awareness, I'm here to inform you the correct spelling of the word definitely is DEFINITELY... not DEFINATELY.

Just where do you get the A from anyway? You can't blame it on pronunciation. When is the last time you heard yourself say "def-uh-nayt-lee" (unless you speak in a cockney accent, in which case you don't have much use for written language).

I am totally with you. Poor spelling is endemic in this country. Take a look at what someone wrote in regards to a high school senior who allegedly used school computer to change grades:
