If you have work to do, don't click this link: http://novelconcepts.co.uk/FlashElementTD/
My best so far is ten thousand, beat that, cunts. (hint: the fire element tower is the best)
Now, if you're a glutton for unfinished, shitty writing, read on...
The bus roared through the chalky, red dust, flooding the wake with auburn whitewash. Inside, I pressed my face to the smeary window and absorbed the Sahel. The sand rising up with the murk, a heat so fierce you could see it. All around me, though, my friends smiled contented smiles and began to nod off. Bored. Bored when everything around us screams of terrifying alacrity; we're in the elephant graveyard, lions, and I don't see any hyenas, so let's frolic! Well... honestly, the trip so far had been more Disney animation and less live action than what I'd wanted. However, I shouldn't be disappointed. What else could I have expected from a school trip?
I tore my gaze from the speeding-by-Sahara, and fixed it on my friends. It didn't matter if we were back in our cardboard-box school, or out in the Cradle of Man, it would always be love with these friends. I turned and shot a glance to the rear of the bus. My best friend, Cale, reclined beside Tila-the-fox. Her head was slumped gently across his chest, and her hair cascaded softly below. She was asleep, and his were thin and drooped, yet they re-lit when he caught my eye. We flashed smiles at each other, and then with a friendly dismissive wave, he lapsed into slumber.
Flowing forward from the rear to where I sat in the front were memories in seats; nostalgia in safari jackets, legionnaire hats, Birkenstock sandals. These individuals, thrown from all corners of the Earth into my district boundaries, were destined to be my friends. Scanning through droopy, normal faces, flies buzzing and circling around them with Vampiric lust, I didn't see average or objective. I saw the ones who'd cried laughed shared worked played with me over the years, and a deep affection was all I felt.
Still nearer to my heart, resting on its straight and steady beat, lay June. More than any other person, she was my half and equal. Words fail. In the embrace of the heat and the comforting strands of her strewn hair, I, too lulled myself to sleep. The murky light faded and a wan moon loomed as the bus continued to roll towards the Heart of Africa.
***
(Insert shit about how they get ambushed while asleep by freaknasty black african thugs)
...
We were violently pulled from the bus. The girls cried, while the guys failed to guise their bewilderment as they feebly played the protector. I, at the front, was the last to be gripped painfully by the shoulders and tossed into the packed powder-keg dust.
"It'll be okay, don't worry," I desperately whispered into June's trembling ear. Then the hands came for us, followed by arms, and men wearing fatigues. I didn't struggle. I knew it was hopeless. Maybe he resented it, or maybe it was because I was the final one, but he seemed to fling me to the ground with needless vehemence. My bag had come unfastened, and the contents came tumbling out. The books inside landed with time-heavy puffs on the ground, but my chess board flew open, pieces escaping in all directions like bugs scuttling away from the underside of an uncovered rock.
Rolling in a wide, C-curved arc, was the king. The heavy base turning over and over in the sand. It snowballed a thickening coat of dust before stopping; paused under the thick black boot of the leader of the khaki-clad men.
He dropped into a slow crouch and picked up the tall piece, resting steadily on his thick camo haunches. The huge man put the Black piece up to his dirt-crusted face and looked at it pensively. I was still stunned, hurt, sprawled on the ground. Slowly, I rose up slightly and watched him as he finally stood up.
The class was silent. Surrounded by straight-faced Africans in military-looking dress...
...Flashing teeth as white as our stricken faces.

Screw this game, I don't know how my roommate can get 19k.
I can't believe nobody has commented on the Tony Robbins picture.

+2 for the game... as for the writing, I've certainly seen worse.
Something about the line "Surrounded by straight-faced Africans in military-looking dress... " got me though. Like no matter how "civilized" man is, we're all still animals at heart.
Or maybe not, fuck it. What the hell do I know?
Cool game anyways.

Cool game.
Research for you, to make your story more believable - The Cradle of Mankind is a recognised heritage site, about 30 minutes drive outside Johannesburg, and about 3500 kilometres from the Sahara.

Thanks for that comment.
Yeah I paused while writing and tried to think where it was going and that line popped into my head.
So I wrote it down, now I have to fill in the gap between where I am now and then!
