To a Zoologist, cryptozoologists occupy the same territory as astrologers do to astronomers.

I went to Loch Ness last year. Nessie wanted some cuban cigars and (just so you know) it was a total bitch getting her back on the plane. Stupid Homeland Security assholes.

Another fun animal that was originally a rumored species (and people rolled their eyes, much like Bigfoot, etc) that was studied by cryptozoologist was the kangaroo!

byt the way there have been several modern studies sweeping the entire Loch with sonar, which have conclusively prooven that there is nothing bigger than fish in there.

Yeah, there was tons of information I found that went on and on for miles, such as:
"Mainstream science cites several reasons why such an animal could not be alive and living in Loch Ness. Apart from the past extinction, the plesiosaur was a cold-blooded reptile; the average temperature of Loch Ness is about 42 degrees farenheit. Today's marine reptiles (crocodiles, sea turtles, and sea snakes) live within the tropics where the warm water can maintain their core body temperature. They also point out, should evidence be found to support the theory that plesiosaurs, like dinosaurs were warm-blooded, that they would need a large amount of food a day to maintain a level of activity that a warm-blooded animal requires. This, in turn, would conceivably cause more sightings. [27]
There is also no evidence within the bone structure of fossilized plesiosaurs that support a sonar capability, as dolphins and whales have. Such a system would be needed in the loch itself, as visibility is severely limited to less than 15 feet due to the large amount of peat washed down from the glen. As a result, sunlight does not penetrate very deep into the water, limiting the amount of algae, thereby reducing the number of plankton, small fish, and then large fish up the food chain. Since the fossilized evidence indicates plesiosaurs were sight hunters, it unlikely that the loch's peat-stained water in combination with the low supply of food would be enough to support a colony of such animals."
