Rage Against the Machine sets reunion

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Rage Against the Machine, the LA band known for its insistent political content, will perform for the first time in seven years, the Los Angeles Times said.

The band plans to play one date, as the headliners for the 2007 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the newspaper said, citing sources.

Rage, which played at the first Coachella in 1999, joins a bill that reportedly will include Red Hot Chili Peppers and Björk for the three-day event, which is scheduled to begin April 27.

Organizers plan to announce the lineup in the next few days. It is expected to include Interpol, Willie Nelson, the Roots, the Decembrists, Arctic Monkeys, Sonic Youth and Crowded House, the newspaper said.

Tickets are set to go on sale Saturday, with three-day passes going for about $250, the Times said.

I should say I met Zack for a minute. The rest of the guys hung out with us while he hid inside for a while. Tom Morello loaned my friend his jacket. Yes, memorable.

I was at the infamous Lollapalooza when RATM taped their mouths shut for their set, and made it up to us by playing one of the best venues in Philly for our original tickets. I met the guys for a minute. It was memorable.

Every time I see the lineup for Coachella, it makes me want to cross the country to see it.
