Seriously... peace, I'm out. I'm leaving the country. Not even joking a little bit on this one.
Before you call me- well, whatever comes to mind when you think of someone who doesn't want to live in this country anymore- let me just say this. I love a lot of things about America. For one, all of my friends and family are here. Not to mention all of my stuff. And I hate moving. I hate having to move up the street, let alone into a different country. I'll probably have to sell a bunch of my stuff, like my microwave, just so I can buy another one when I move into my new place, because seriously it's not worth hauling a microwave a couple thousand miles. They cost, like... thirty bucks.
So why wouldn't I want to be in a country with so much opportunity and literally all of the celebrities? Simple... I don't want to be here whenever our government finishes whatever crazy ass master plan they're working on. I know there isn't anywhere to hide in the world. Whatever is going on with the powers that be right now, it's going to affect EVERYONE, no matter where you are. I just don't want to be at Ground Zero when the shit hits the fan.
See, I'm not really all that stupid. And despite your opinions on our current administration, they really aren't all that stupid either. They don't believe ANYTHING they're telling you, for one. Second, just forget the whole "Bush is an idiot because he can't pronounce certain words" line of crap. Fact of the matter is, these guys have LOTS of money and LOTS of power, and they didn't get all of that by being borderline retarded. IT'S AN ACT, people. Bush isn't a fucking moron, it's just easier to manipulate people by making him appear that way.
How do I know this? Elementary shit, Watson.
A) The presidential election process is a scam. I'm not even going to bother going into the details. Believe it if you want; call me fuckface if you want. I'm stating my opinion, not trying to get you to agree with me.
B) The people with the money and the power in this nation choose who the figurehead is.
C) The people with the money and the power in this nation will retain that money and power, and increase it to the greatest lengths possible, even if doing so means depriving the nation's citizens of privacy and freedom.
D) The people with the money and the power know how to manipulate people to get their way, even if we can't understand all of the intricacies in how that works.
Therefore,
The people in the HIGHEST publically visible positions of power right now are puppets- and the puppetmaster decides what is most effective in manipulating popular opinion. A bumbling retard today serves a greater purpose tomorrow, even if we, the people of the public, don't know what that purpose is.
Bush is not as retarded as he'd like you to believe... QED.
I'm not saying this is a vast conspiracy. It doesn't have to be. It only takes a handful of people- less than a hundred- to run the whole world. And whatever head this is all coming to, America is where it will be set off. No... scratch that. It's already been set off. There are signs of it all over the World. When it comes to America, that's when the shit will have hit the fan. I don't want to be here when the next major strike happens on American soil, or when the Government decides to institute martial law, or when thoughtcrime becomes a reality.
You don't have to agree with me... just try to understand this- I'm not running away from the fight. I'm going to fight the battle against ignorance, injustice and political insanity in my own way. For the moment, I'm not even going that far... I'd like to set up shop in Vancouver, BC for now. From there, I'll be close enough to visit friends and family, to conduct business in NYC and LA, and still be out of the fray should anyone decide to go sickhouse on a major American landmark again.
The world needs change. But right now my main concern is for the safety of myself and my family. I'm establishing a research firm with the primary objective of providing Internet solutions that do not currently exist; however, the proceeds from these developments will be invested in philanthropic and intellectual endeavors.
If you're at all interested in the work I'm doing presently, feel free to check out my (largely incomplete) websites detailing my current pursuits.

I give a 10% "finder's fee" to anyone who refers a signed contract for Internet Marketing services to me. I'm very good in that particular field. (In other words, if you sell lightbulbs in Tennessee, I'm pretty good at getting you higher up on the SERPs- Search Engine Result Pages- when someone types "tennessee lightbulbs" into Google or Yahoo or whatever.)
I'd love some information or references on the differences I might face- in terms of taxation, legislation and business management- while trying to run a corporation out of Canada as opposed to the United States. I haven't done any research into this yet, so if you already have some knowledge on the subject, it would be immensely useful to me.
Oh... and if anyone has a place I can shack up near Vancouver for a week or two while I get things established, that would be cool too- but don't feel bad if you can't help out. One of my boys in San Jose will be lending me some assistance while I stage the transition. I'll probably be making the move in late March or early April; we'll see how things pan out.
Good to talk with you again, Ubersite. As always... rock on.

You know, I feel really sorry for most Americans, what's conspired down there these last 6 years is by far the most disgusting page in human history thus far (the previous 'Most Disgusting Page also belonged to America) but I gotta say this--
I don't want Americans relocating to Canada. I just can't stomach it--I don't mind the influx of people we've had from China, Japan, Pakistan, India etc. but I really, really don't want Americans here.
You'll find a lot of Canadians feel the same way, and please don't feel like it's a personal issue--it's just that you guys have fucked up your own country so badly that there's probably no return--you guys have a track record of that--and it's something that we Canadians have NEVER understood.
At one moment you're proclaiming the US as the best damn place on earth, complete with the largest, best trained military on earth--then the next instant you're trash talking your own homes. I'm not sure what it is that makes the American brain so prone to propaganda, and so easily lead away from the obvious truth--maybe it's the drinking water. Whatever it is, it seems that only the US suffers from it--and in situations like this it's best to keep it contained.
I know it's a fucked up mess. I sympathize with you, but seriously--don't come here, don't bring your friends here, don't bring your family here--
Fix your home first. Fix your government, fix your communities. That's your responsibility as an American, it's one hell of an order, but you have to do it ( the rest of the world will support you no matter what, but you gotta take the first steps yourself).
And for the record: Whatever the next terrorist attack is on the USA--you can't blame the terrorists, America deserves to be hit, they absolutley deserve it. It's sad and cruel, but put yourself in the shoes of the muslims that have watched American Imperialism destroy their lives for generations. They've earned taking a shot at the US and when they take it I'm sure it'll be a real eye opener for the late night McDonalds and Walmart consumerite, patriotic christian fuckhead.

Preach it, brother.
Still - there are some really hot americans. They can come, even if they are stupid.

Am I to beleive that by your statements about the rest of the world backing us up and us having to fix these problems that you think there is any way that the general American populace could stand up and overthrow the government or anything like that? Corruption is rampant among American elected officials so voting the problems out of office wouldnt work we would just get sneakier problems.
As far as using force to get what we want there is nothing your average overweight soccermom or Johnny six pack blue collar guy could do to stop the military from subduing the people within a matter of days... weeks at the longest. The rest of the world helping? Your motivation would be what? to free the oppressed civillians from a tyranical government? where have I heard that before? Oh yeah about the war in Iraq, and we can all see how wonderful that turned out.
You saw what happened with Katrina, if you put American scociety to the test in a situation like that I think a sizable chunk of the population (low income minorities) would take the oppertunity to rob places and kill people because thats what they do. anyways I digress you would succeed only in destroying yourself do you honestly think the American government will ever be toppled without pushing te little red launch all the nukes button first? We have enough of them to steralize the planet 3 times over or something like that. Yeah, you can launch yours too, but then evreyone will be dead at the same time as opposed to a slow death from nuclear winter.

Workin' on it. The dead links refer to projects that are so far back in the conceptualization stages, that they don't even have mock-up pages running on the domains. I've been pretty ambitious in ramping up my new business... I've closed a few contracts, garnered a few new ones, set up some good business relationships, and created those two websites I posted here- all in the last three weeks.
Check back in a couple more weeks, and there should be a lot more development. I'm a bit buried in work as of late.

My best friend, Cat, (who I wouldn't call Histrionic by any means) wants to leave the U.S. as well.
My philosophy is this; ditching one's country for another is a lot like quitting a job because you become frustrated with it. You'll find that a new job just brings a new and different set of problems.
I dunno.
Good luck to you.

I'm sorry, Apollo- you've obviously misunderstood my statements as an attempt to start a major rebellion, rallying others to my cause and rising up against those who I feel have wronged me. I'm not sure how you turned my short biographical piece on what I intend to do over the coming months into the Communist Manifesto inside your warped little head, but... there you have it.

Yeah, you helped, Caulain. Can't thank you enough.
Apollo- since I had to go and look up "histrionic", I'm going to take the time to ask whether you see the hypocrisy in your indirect assessment of me as having "a personality disorder which involves a pattern of excessive emotional expression and attention-seeking, including an excessive need for approval"... when you've been posting on this website every other day for three and a half years, while I live a real life with things to do outside of the Internet.
Don't rush to respond. The question was rhetorical.

it's slightly the same shit only Canadians conclude that they are righteous because they are irrelevant.

In response to St_Jimmy's comments:
Say what you will about whether there is a grand conspiracy going on or not... the fact is, a major US landmark was attacked, and over three thousand people died. And for what it's worth, there is some truth to the statement that "power corrupts". What is going on in the world today- the entire political climate- is a power struggle. You've stated that the United States is losing its "title" as a world superpower... don't you think some of the people with tons of money and connections, but no scruples whatsoever, would make some moves to retain that title? And isn't it possible that in the process of doing so, some innocents might be harmed?
The truth is, I do have some reasons for choosing Vancouver... part of what I intend to do with my research firm is related to investigating certain naturally-occurring organisms with entheogenic properties. Vancouver is a bit more open to this kind of research. In fact, there are already a couple of institutions in or around that area engaged in similar experimental endeavors.
As for China becoming a world superpower, I'll just say I'm glad I spent a year of my college time studying Mandarin.

A) The presidential election process is a scam... I'm stating my opinion, not trying to get you to agree with me.
For the record, you are stating your opinion as fact here. That was just bothering me.
As for grand conspiracies, I'm doubtful. There are a number of very wealthy people on this planet who collude with one another and act in their own best interest (even to the detriment of "ordinary citizens" around the world). This however is simple economics, not a conspiracy. No great big thing is going to happen. There won't be any rapture or great big armageddon. No anti-christ is going to be popping up anywhere. The U.S. is simply starting to (slowly) lose its hold on the most dominant superpower title. This has happened a number of times throughout history. Just ask Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Rome... It's really not that big of a deal. Some new nation will: (likely China) outpace out technological innovations, better educate their children, carry less national debt, etc. The U.S. will then move into a new, but lesser role on the global stage and life will go on. There may be a war in there somewhere though, just to keep things interesting.
Unless you actually have better opportunities in Canada (which you may or may not have, it doesn't sound like you've researched this very well), stay put. Relocating out of the country isn't cheap and it would probably take you too long to recoup your losses. Just my opinion though, do what you want.
Interesting post however.

I have a share trading account in UK Pounds that is registered to an address in Virginia because that was the lowest amount of company tax. When I want money my broker transfers it to an account in Virginia (where tax is paid on it) and then I am free to withdraw it here in NJ.
