Not much time between now and VD so we must act like we are tourists plagued with the runs, streaking through poorly lit streets in search of a serviceable bathroom with little "pff-pff-pffs" coming from behind us and a hint of warm wetness in the seat of our pants. Yes, it is time for the lit matches of authorship to break forth from out our collective asses.

Well, in an emotional and lovely way that is.

In a sweet way. In a manner most befitting romance and love and such.

Anyway...the pairings have been made, as always, at random - drawn from the Crown Royal Bag of Imperial Violet and High School Pseudo-Coolness. If you've got a problem, I suggest you speak to your attorney.

Titles will be determined by the you, the Writer, as we've had quite a few go-rounds lately where people have been handed titles and confined to them. ***Please review below with your title today or tomorrow so that there's at least some semblance of order here and no one's surprised come the deadline***

Round 1 stories will be due Monday 1/22 at noon Eastern. You're welcome to post them before then, of course. Given all the people involved I'm giving the first round a bit more time than the others. From Round 2 on it'll be Quick, Like a Bunny™.

About forfeiting on this? I saw the quality of some of the entries and decided this wasn't worth my time. Uber has held little attraction this week. The best thing to show up lately was Methods auction post and he relied on us to write that for him.

Add to that the fact that I was in meetings all day yesterday. After that my options were to finish the piece I had started for this or go home and have dinner with my wife and son before he went to bed for the night.

The last piece of the puzzle is that, because I miss him so dearly and want to honour his memory, I am attempting to take over badassmofos 'Most Forfeits' title.

Is that it?

If it's something else, make a post about it and we can argue there. Hurl unfounded accusations at me or something. Call me names.

I need a good argument today.

I'm through joining contests for a while. I am better at running them. Because I'm a natural born leader.

It's true there are people who ruin ratings intentionally for some and not others. The chance is there for everyone, but it's NOT an equal chance, for sure. I don't know what should or shouldn't be done and I don't particularly feel like dealing with ratings drama, either. I just noticed is all.

Some people give an automatic -2 to certain authors regardless of the quality of the piece. The only way to judge a contest is by the ratings, so the whole thing gets fucked up by assholes who rate the poster rather than the post. Certain alters need to die.

I wouldn't be concerned with it at the moment either way, Ax. There will be plenty more ratings where they came from, I'm sure. I just posted today- our pieces are very different, and anything can happen. I do agree with you in principle, though. We can't stop spamming, but at the same time, ignoring it leads to unfairness in some cases. We'll see how it goes.
