No, dearest, it's lovely. It's a perfect little blossom. Crimson-kissed petals and such. It's lovely, for a single rose.
A poor exchange, perhaps, for your artful flattery. A poor exchange for your cleverly hidden betrayal.
A poor exchange entirely, I should think, for your recent conduct. It's positively -- dare I say? -- adulterous of you, beloved.
(What is this? This repentant smirk, this cool apology?)
What a delight to finally hear the admission from your own sweet lips!
And what is this word, now, flicking off your snake's tongue? May I hear it one more time?
