It was just too good: Coley's heads being done Dahmer-style while Maynard James Keenan kills a guy with an AK-47.

Why use Maynard this way?

Because randomness is awesome and predictableness is cliche and overrated.
Maynard is the least likely person you would think of to kill someone.
A REALLY good guy, say a Buddhist monk, would be cliche (they're too nice for people NOT to think that they don't kill). Therefore, you gotta find someone famous, and not someone regarded as either being extremely nice (Buddhist monk) or extremely evil (Joseph Stalin).
I decided to do a random search through my iTunes and use whoever fit that description. It was down to either him or The Edge from U2. So I flipped a coin. Heads. Maynard.
