Around about lunchtime on 30th January 1969 a noise started too emanate from the street above Savile Row. Men in business suits stopped what they were doing as they went about their daily tasks to investigate the racket.
Rumour started to spread amongst those in the know... the Beatles hadn't performed together in public since 1966 and were now in the process of an impromptu free live concert of the rooftops of their Apple building
Crows gathered on the street below, surrounding scaffold, behind windows and neighbouring rooftops, those witnessing the event were aware of the uniqueness of what they were seeing.
The concert came about after the band were hitting crisis point recording the 'Get Back' sessions that would later appear in the upcoming 'Let It Be' Film (where both Ringo and George had quit/threatened to quit the band) and felt that a live performance might give them the cohesion that they felt they were lacking.
Plod were called to the scene because of the noise but the band were simply asked to stop playing. They were later to note that they were all disappointed not to have been arrested, they felt that the band being hauled off in handcuffs would have been a fitting end.
Picture below:
January 30, 1969: The Beatles perform together for the last time, live, on the roof of Apple's London office. Later, film of the event will become part of the documentary Let It Be.

Hey Beano, my bad with the UK trading post... I have found out you can use IG markets or cmc markets to trade CFD's or the index AND you only need to 2% of the trade amount.
THe trading platform is a minefield though, so I'll post a fe screen shot about what you should be looking for...
It'll let you trade against the US and AUD dollar vs the EUR and Pound which is all you need to start, I don't know what you need to open an account but am guessing 500 or 1000 pounds.

The only bands ever worth listening to:
The Beatles (August 1960 - April 1970)
Nirvana (March 1988 - April 1994)
Tool (Summer 1990 - present)
Zeppelin, Doors, and U2 have tons of talent, but I don't like them as much as everyone else.

No, I jest not.
The Beatles. Zepplin. Doors. Sucked. Sucked. Sucked.
I don't fall prey to the "if it's old and druggy it's good" mentality.
They all sucked.

Did the Beatles ever even make a bad album?
It's kind of like saying Martin Scorcese has made a bad film.
------
In my opinion no.... because even the early stuff (considered by some to be poor) is great in it's own right especially due to what else was being produced at that time.
--------------
Spot on. Their early stuff, while not the equal of what they produced later, has to be seen in the context of the times. They established themselves in the accepted popular genre before growing as artists and branching off to walk their own path. It's hard to imagine but "Please Please Me" was what made them famous.
----------
Look at the chart No1 spot holders (UK) of 1958... JUST 5 YEARS before the Beatles had their first hit.
Jerry Lee Lewis.. Great Balls Of Fire 10/1/1958
Elvis Presley.. Jailhouse Rock 24/1/1958
Michael Holliday.. The Story Of My Life 14/2/1958
Perry Como.. Magic Moments 28/2/1958
Marvin Rainwater.. Whole Lotta Woman 25/4/1958
Connie Francis.. Who's Sorry Now 16/5/1958
Vic Damone.. On The Street Where You Live 27/6/1958
Everly Brothers.. All I Have To Do Is Dream / Claudette 4/7/1958
Kalin Twins.. When 22/8/1958
Connie Francis.. Carolina Moon / Stupid Cupid 26/9/1958
Tommy Edwards.. All In The Game 7/11/1958
Lord Rockingham's XI.. Hoots Mon 28/11/1958
Compared this to the music they helped to influence and compete against in 1968 and it is far superior in my opinion.

One of the best reads I've had: "The Beatles Off the Record", a chronological journey through their entire career made up entirely of statements and interviews they gave at those times, ironically it includes basically every "on the record" statement they made. Despite what seems like a pretty limited way of telling the story, it's far more comprehensive than anything else I've read on them.
Can't remember who compiled it, was a friend of theirs, I think he was maybe called Alan?

Love the "White Album".
Mix some drugs in with that and you have nirvana.
--------
That albums is said to be too disjointed... It was basically what they had all written while they were in India with the Maharishi for several months.
They were encourage to refine it and make it a single album.
I'm glad I didn't because it has some top songs.

Plus it has Something and Here Comes The Sun - Two of my all time best songs let along Beatles songs.

"Tomorrow Never Knows" is a one-chord song with words from the Tibeten "Book of the Dead." It's like the sound of one hand clapping. Or something. In other news, it looks like it might rain in Phoenix today.
