"Just a little over a mile away from the placement of the first device, a group of terrorists boarded airplanes and launched an attack on New York City," police Commissioner Edward Davis said in an interview with The Associated Press in regards to the placement of Aqua Teen Hunger Force light brites that displayed the image of characters known as the Mooninites flipping the bird as hard as they could.
Give me a fucking break, Boston. So does that mean if someone gets pulled over with a VCR in their car down here in Florida, they can justify arresting them by saying, "Just a thousand miles up the east coast terrorists crashed planes into buildings." What a dumbass thing to say. What does the distance have anything to do with harmless LED circuit boards? I just wanted to comment on how fucking stupid that comment was (and everything Boston did).
This is what I wrote on the adult swim message boards:
Anyone who thinks that the little neon light of Err was a bomb is a moron. An ignorant, IQ-of-under-100 moron. Adult Swim shouldn't be apologizing for anything, especially not the gross over reactions of police and politicians. The right to view clever advertisements is an American way of life, and Turner broadcasting shouldn't bow to the culture of fear that many people seem hell bent on propogating. I was sad when all those people died on 9/11, but not sad enough to live in constant fear, TERROR really, of anything that is unknown or not understood. To change the way we live our lives, our culture of freedom, is really the only way any terrorist could ever really win, and I refuse to do so. Carry on, Adult Swim. You really are the last American cowboys.

This case will fall over quicker than a 1 legged dog
I liked these parts of the article:
There was barely a stir in nine other cities across the country where similar devices were placed.
"It's clear the intent was to get attention by causing fear and unrest that there was a bomb in that location," Grossman said.
White-Lief said it could also prove difficult to win convictions on a second count the men face, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, which is generally related to an immediate annoyance or threat. But the devices were in place for a couple of weeks before police were notified.

I am so ashamed of Boston. Would have thought that after they found the first one, they would have laughed about the rest!

Nobody thought it was a terrorist attack. The fear was that the mooninites were finally invading.
Ignignokt: Oh it feels good to stretch my legs. Boy, I haven't bitch-slapped someone since Tucson. Err: Bend over slave!

I agree with you. I personally think that it was a fairly clever advertising campaign. Sort of reminded me of the Killroy trend that ran around during WWII and carried on long after.
I also believe that any EOD tech that saw that advertisement and treated it like a possible device should be fired for not recognizing the fact that it could not be a hazard. I am not an EOD tech but have been well trained on explosives and my best friend is an EOD tech and this shit is just sad.
Props to Turner for thinking it up and even though the fucktards that were hanging these things up should be shot for being retarded the idea was still good.

People in Boston are retards - I wonder if they know that the entire country is laughing at them.
People in Appalachia are laughing at them, man, that's bad.
