The majority of the Chinese population may end up fucking themselves in a few decades because their parents are fucking up now.
Historically, Chinese families have always preferred boys over girls - a belief shared by most cultures at one time or another in our collective history. Boys were strength and safety, workers and providers for their parents. Boys carried on the bloodline (a ridiculous belief - only the Jews got this one right, tracing Judaism through mothers, not fathers).
Since 1980 the Chinese government has imposed a 'one child per family' policy. Thanks to modern prenatal screening an illegal back alley sex scan can be obtained for as little as $50. Female fetuses are in the cross-hairs of Chinese abortionists.
300 women out of 820 surveyed in a village in central China in 2002 had abortions, and a third of them admitted they were trying to select their baby's sex.
The International Planned Parenthood Federation says that more than 70% of Chinese aborted fetuses are female. In 1999, 750,000 female fetuses were aborted in China.
In China there were 118 boys born for every 100 girls in 2005.
In 15 years, China will have 30 to 40 million more women than men. Some estimates put the number of 'missing women' at 60 million.
There are three ways this gloomy scenario can play out.
One - an explosion of faggotry unlike anything ever seen will sweep China. China will become kinder, gentler, and less belligerent, they will stop spitting in the streets and leaving trash everywhere, and the next big thing in popular music will be 'gay house,' dance music with a fast and heavy backbeat that embodies the thrill of one little Asian man hammering at the spine of another until the wide receiver loses all sensation in his legs and needs to cruise felch street in a wheelchair for a few nights afterward.
Two - Millions and millions of horny Chinese men will start looking for women elsewhere, importing them by force if necessary, and spurring an explosion in sexual slavery. If this sounds ridiculous, please remember that between 2001 and 2003, Chinese police freed more than 42,000 kidnapped women and children, victims of human trafficking.
Three - China will collapse into a Mad Maxian netherworld of crime and anarchy as roving bands of displaced and disenfranchised males run amok. Right now China's growing crime rate is being linked to their massive transient (sometimes called 'floating') population of 80 million so-called 'low-status' males. In the end we can only hope for the best - that this soon to be #1 superpower of the world fall apart and fall into oblivion before they get the chance to fuck us over. America has it faults, but at least we don't spit everywhere.

Male children ARE valued more than female children in China, especially among the poor. It happens in India as well. The male children can do more physical work, and the family doesn't have to pay a huge dowry when they marry.

Oh if it were only as simple as that. See, that is the largest problem when having these sorts of 'scraps' is that I DO think everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even if its wrong.
Thing is, some opinions are based on ignorance and intolerance. Others are formed through fear, or hate. Are we to respect all of those viewpoints as equal?
I don't.

This IS an obscure website, but I don't find any racist jokes irrelevant. Heck - some of them are fucking funny - but they all leverage the same intolerance, ignorance and irrationality - and I feel like making it clear that I think it's bullshit.
I only say 'karmic' because I have surrendered to the knowledge that I can not control the actions or sentiments of anyone other than myself. I can only maintain my own path and represent my beliefs as honestly as I can.

I wouldn't worry about the Chinese. We have a branch in that neck of the woods with a few IT gurus under my employ. While one of them was asking me how to ping the other day, the other one instant messaged me, asking if there was any way one could put data on a CD. Throw anything more complicated than a desk calendar their way and move in the troops while they struggle to figure it out.

an Option Three might happen. I read an article once about how most countries that plunged into civil war had a distincly large portion of their population that were 18-25 males. i know poverty is probably the main culprit, but it was a statistical trend.
though you might have to factor in the Chinese lack of testosterone in that equation.
