Once again digging into the archives, I found the Peregrine Falcon I sketched. I had previously done a very detailed pencil drawing and given it to my boyfriend, as it's his favourite animal. I had made this ink copy for practice with shading techniques. Good thing too, because shortly afterwards, he had lost the original somewhere in the trash heap he called his bedroom.
The Peregrine Falcon is one badass bird. It's the fastest land animal, with a dive speed reaching 320 kph (approx 200 mph). The fastest ever recorded was a neckbreaking 390 kph (245 mph). It will circle its prey (other birds and smaller mammals) high in the air and tuck its wings to dive. The prey never sees it coming until they're hit. Usually all the casual observer will see is a puff of fur or feathers, and the Peregrine swooping away with dinner. The Peregrine made a fair comeback after being put on the endangered species list. The pesticide DDT was making their eggshells extremely thin and fragile. If you're lucky, you may spot one in urban areas, as they sometimes nest on skyscrapers. We need more in Toronto to take out the pigeon infestation.

Year: c. 2000

WIKIPEDIA AGAIN? I was going to provide a citation that is actually credible as judged by professionals in an educational environment, (more and more people are banning wikipedia outright) http://www.shortnews.com/start.cfm?id=60201&rubrik1=High%20Tech&rubrik2=Internet&rubrik3=All&sort=1&start=1 (1) , but since the both of you insist on being lazy, uninspired, bitches that have a lot in common, I will fling that shit that is "wikipedia", back at you. >>> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Kittinger (2).
---
Here's a little quote from your Kittinger page:
"he made the final jump from the Excelsior III at 102,800 feet (31,300 m). He was in freefall for 13 minutes and 45 seconds"
If a peregrine falcon were to dive from that height he would go faster. Why? Wind resistance. Falcons generate a lot less drag because they are smaller and more aerodynamic.
As for Wikipedia, I was not aware that universities ever accepted it as a source. I wrote a term paper last semester on Francis Xavier's role in christianizing japan. I didnt use wikipedia for my research, I used the writings of Francis Xavier and various other 16th century Jesuits as well as a few Portugeuse from the period. However I spent countless hours writing that paper and doing that research and you are thoroughly mistaken if you think I care enough about you to spend more then the fifteen seconds it took me to copy and paste that wikipedia quote.

Lovely picture. Humans can spped along at ridiculous speeds when gravity is accelerating them to terminal velocity. Also considering that humans fall under kingdom animalia, I would not be incorrect in making the following statement. Humans are the fastest marine, land, and air, animals in the world and they can be clocked at a 990 km/h. Do not try to challenge the basis in an argumentative manner. Dont try to bring physics in the mix with stolen definitions; I would love to make a fool of you. Your shit is wrong, and you it would be in your best interest to recant those statements. I once tried to draw one of those pictures in art class back in high school using skills that we had been taught such as cross hatching, shading, perspective, and the like. The teacher failed me without explanation?

Do not try to fucking argue that the dive was assisted. Would cheetahs be "cheating" if they used the ground to propel them forward? It is IN a human's CAPABILITY and it is the truth.
---
Erm, using gravity and surface friction as an aide to something a creature has evolved to do naturally is not the same as saying humans can fly, you fuckwit. Yes we've evolved the intelligence to invent things that help us do the same or better than other animals, but it's not US doing the flying. It's the plane. That we're in. That's like saying humans orbit the sun because we're sat on the planet (and before you say we didn't invent the sun or the planet, Cheetahs didn't invent surface friction)
What you have come up with is an OPINION or a TAKE on facts, it doesn't make you right.
I don't know why I'm arguing with you, you're clearly an alter.

For a while I was reveling in hope that wikipedia would be shut down due to lack of funding. Unfortunately, diehard, cunt-eaters like yourself, are trying to prolong the process >> http://news.techwhack.com/5301/wikipedia/ (3).
I was only trying to do you a favour in pointing out your error. In return, I get two drips that try to ram a rake down my throat with wikipedia??
Do not try to fucking argue that the dive was assisted. Would cheetahs be "cheating" if they used the ground to propel them forward? It is IN a human's CAPABILITY and it is the truth. To this, ungrateful, sally bitch, remember, rabbits cannot do as much on their own, and thus, your argument (or unrealised satire) is null and void. So I would like to reiterate if I could. HUMANS are the fastest marine, land, and air animals on the earth they have the capability to cruise along at Also don't always try to defend your fallacies because we as humans make mistakes and at times it is best to make a concession.
* Your source, was even more generous, giving me another couple of kilometers to work with.
** And to those who will inevitably scavenge every word I have typed thus far, in hopes of parading a mistake; I appreciate the benevolence.

You are impressively stupid. The only way a human can be clocked at 990km/h is in a jet aircraft or some similary propelled vehicle. But guess what, if you put a falcon in one of those vehicles they can be clocked at 990km/h too. In fact since falcons weigh markedly less then people, the vehicle would actually travel marginally faster with a falcon in it. You fuckwit.
And oh yea, here's a quote from wikipedia:
"Higher speeds can be attained if the skydiver pulls in his limbs (see also freeflying). In this case, the terminal velocity increases to about 320 km/h (200 mph or 89 m/s), which is also the maximum speed of the Peregrine Falcon diving down on its prey."
And oh yea, here's a quote from me:
"You are a miserable excuse for a human being. You contribute absolutely nothing positive to this website or to this world. I hope you die in the most painful fashion possible."

Well well, seems I have a pseudo-intellectual hairsplitter here. Well, I can play that game too Sonny Jim, and split that hair further. Yes, humans CAN achieve terminal velocity, so can inanimate objects. They cannot, however, achieve this without assistance, because - surprise surprise - humans can't fly or move faster than an average (average meaning NOT an olympic sprinter) of 4 mph on their own.
The current land-speed record was held by ThrustSSC on the Bonneville Salt Flats of Utah (1228 kph). Again, that record was achieved using a turbojet propelled vehicle.
A skydiver can achieve terminal velocity, but without an airplane to jump from, he's not achieving jack shit.
I would love to know what vehicle propels a human to exactly 990 kph. Please cite your resources before you challenge anyone.
Lastly, if your teacher had failed you in art class, you should have a)asked for an explanation and b)thought twice about taking it out on someone not involved. The crying towels are down the hall. Your attempts to sound smart are laughable and incoherent at times. Go elsewhere, troll.

Just once in my life I want to see one of these fuckers completely miss their target and hit something else instead. Preferably something really hard. What if you were a myopic peregrine falcon and you took a dive at some pigeon or something and then once you were too close to pull up you realized oh fuck, thats not a pigeon, its a fuckin...something else, thats hard. What would go through your head? Prolly just "oh fuck" and then you'd die. I really want to see that happen.
