Wisher my videocamera is an old tape one too, but I have MAc, so it was literally plug and play with iMovie running.
Maybe borrow a Mac? As for how you SAVE it, it took me a few tries and now I can't remember the fucking format.

ps: give me an idea for a voicewhore thing, or vid. Oh, also, do you are anyone know how to use a 3 year old "tape but expensive" vid cam and convert it to digital. I can't put anything on my YouTube cos it's tape, but, i see old stuff on there all the time, that must've come for older cams like mine. And I thought my cam was cool! Anybody, 'cept Apollo?

Assuming you have Windows, you'll need to install a video capture device to plug your camera's video out cable into, and then use something like Windows Movie Maker (..which you probably already have, if you have XP..) to capture and edit the footage with.
The capture device can be a card you install into your PC, or a USB device you just plug in.
The card is cheaper, the USB device is more expensive, but easier. Take your pick.
