All she wants from this god forsaken life is to love.
She doesn't think its a lot to ask. She had cried herself to sleep cold night after night thinking about the helplessness of her situation. The desperation of wanting to change, but not being empowered to achieve it. Love. Others have it. Lots of others have it. But it has long eluded her.
It isn't so much the pain and misery that makes her so sad as much as the sheer degradation and humiliation of what she has to do on a daily basis that really sends her into deep pits of depression, that she is often sure she won't be able to climb out of.
Sometimes she doesn't want to climb out.
It isn't like this for others, she passes girls on the street all the time who walk hand in hand with another human, be it boy of girl. With some of them you could feel the electricity, the energy that existed between them. She wanted just a small percent of that.
Why not end it? She had asked herself that question on many occasions, and a couple of times had even 'attempted' to do just that. They were weak and feeble attempts, much like her. Never really meant to do anything other than garner some kind of sympathy (and a mild feeling of being wanted and cared for) from whoever it was who discovered her pathetic body and revived her and told her she shouldn't die.
But it was the long distant memory of love and the hope that one day it will return to her that keeps her from dying at her own hand.
It has nothing to do with self pride, or feelings of self worth... just the thought that she could have love. And then she would have it all.
She was such a simple girl. Such small needs from life, yet this had left her broken and alone, a shadow of a human, a passenger - no - a tool of life, to be picked up and used by others as their desire so lead them.
