The term "malaprop" comes from a 1775 play in which a character called Mrs. Malaprop did excatly what you do in your posts. This style of humor, if it can be called that, is at least 232 years old. Nothing is still funny after 232 years, except maybe the good ol' USofA. At least it's changed a bit in that time. Pick a new schtick.

In general, Mrs. Malaprop's contribution to contemptuary society is still funny. The problem is that in this piece, the mistkaes are not believable and often irreverent to the larger picture, making them unnecessary and outright painful. This guy is trying too hard.

Aha, ha. I get it. While yours is better than the subject piece, it's still merely an echo of Norm Crosby. That's as funny as this type of stuff gets, which is (I maintain) not very at all. Don't listen to me, though - I haven't liked SNL since Belushi died. What do I know?

I think what you do is better served when it's brief and to the point. Work it too long and you'll lose the crowd.
