Nightly comes the slowing
And the shade
And in time, in weakness
In time, and restless legs
Running out the day
In steady time,
All things in motion
Perpetual still.
The bloom absent from crossed hands

No it was all written straight through without any rearrangement or edits.
Well, this part was done first:

In fact, I considered just posting that along with the painting and calling it a day. Then I figured I could do more and set about finding what else was kicking around inside my head. I have a feeling that the part you referenced was around when I slipped into a more comfortable form. It's more in line with what I've been doing lately. The rest...well who knows.

That verse (or stanza or whatever you call them) that starts with "yet above the thickened blood" is pretty good. It's like you had that written and dropped it in with the rest of it, cos it's better than the rest of it and seems out of place. But that's just me.

You should search for "Fuseli" and "Nightmare" Stag. There's at least one other piece that involves these figures...more of a vertical presentation. Pick which one you like more.
I may do something with another of his paintings in the coming weeks.

The Greeks, when selling crazy back in the day, offered that sleep (Hypnos) and death (Thanatos) were brothers.
